I'm new to this forum. Thought I'd say hi and share some pics. I have a 72 and a 98. Both cars were bought on Ebay, both times I got "lucky". Here are some pics of the 72. As you see I have made some changes to it.

Here I am in Vegas picking up the car. I drove through a huge snow storm on the way back to TX.

Man I love that car...main reason I wanted you to show it off. It's easily one of my favorites. So glad you could join us here. The C3 ranks have been growing and we're glad you're one of us.

Thanks DB ! I'm thinking of changing the engine set up to a set of quads or a 6 pack. I am still undesided on the Side pipes.

I think dual quads would look awesome, but I would think it could be for the WOW factor. The six pack I think would cool but WAAAY too complicated to tune on a seasonal basis. The dual quads would be easy to maintain IMO.

Definitely go for the side pipes...they look fantastic on a C3.

That 98 looks like a Honda to me. Kidding aside, where the pics of the C5?

Beautiful 72, spicy mustard. I haven't seen stripes like that before. What is that thing on the passenger-side firewall? Cruise control?

Beautiful car and welcome to the site. I'd say definitely go with the side pipes, one of my favorite things on a C3.

Thanks for all the kind words about the 72.
The thing on the passengers side is a Actuator that control the opening and closing of the windshield wiper cover ( it's part of the vacuum system ).
Here are some pics of the C5.

You will notice it dose not have a match set of tires. It's kind of a long story but I'll try and make it short.

I track the C5. I had bought a "NEW" match set of tires and 3 days later went to a Track Day event on a Saturday. I road raced the C5 ALL DAY at full speeds...Even spun out at 100 + MPH ( didn't slow me down, thats just part of it ). ANYWAY, I came home on Bald tires. When my wife saw the tires.... Well, she's Italian...so I don't think I have to say any more about that. Anyway we had a road trip planed with the vette that left on that Monday. I had to run out and find tires. It can get hard to find tires in stock to fit the C5 corvette on a Sunday. So I got what ever I could.

ANYWAY.... Can't wait till the next Track day event so I can "shred" the tires I have so I can get a match set...LOL !

Personally I think other than looking a bit goofy otherwise, matched sets of tires are overrated.

Every corner of the car is doing something different at any given time. And if they are the same brand, they still aren't matched. The rears are wider and have a stiffer (lower profile) sidewall.

The front and rear brakes, suspension, and loading is so completely different, you could almost argue using the same tire to accomplish the different needs of the front and rear is oversimplifying things.

Cheap tires are always cheap though, whether matched or not.

Thank you much. I do like the my C5. I use it as a some what daily driver. But I find myself driving the 72 more. But for long road trips...my wife will only go if I take the C5.
