Not a surprise. A great value for what it is. I would love some of the other cars on that list as well. Speaking of cars, the new camaro hits the showrooms very soon, actually just about any day now. I built one online for fun and found out it would cost me about 37K for what I want. All aluminum engine with 426 HP, sun roof, tint package, and some other options. If I can get my finances in line I could be able to get in the next 2 years. We will see.

No surprise there, they are bargains for sure.

BTW, I saw an '02 6-speed with 112K miles sold for $10K.

The only other car on that list I could forsee owning is the M3. And those cost twice as much.

I wouldn't mind driving any one of them. C4 is the best bang for the buck on that list though.

Looks like a pretty good list. Come on, who wouldn't want a Delorean?

Bang for the buck indeed.

Spotted a very low mile mint black 89 coupe and a black 91 6 spd that are reeeeal reasonable. No dinero right now but sure would be nice as a secondary car to run to work in

The thing that gets me is that once you buy a vette, not matter what vintage, people treat you differently.

There is this wacky perception that Corvette's are insanely expensive. I will say they are a luxury, but when you are looking for a certian kind of car, they are an absolute bargin.

I find it is also caused by the casual observer that sees 1967 L71 big blocks sell for $150k on Barrett-Jackson... It makes them assume that all Vette's are somehow worth huge sums.

I remember when I bought my '92... that was back in June 2000. I payed $16,800 for it. A good deal, no question. But when I told people, they were absolutely shocked.

I paid $12,000 for my 92, in mint condition, and was happy as a clam to do so.

I paid $3,000 for my 67 coupe.

Man, you are so right.
When I got my '93 back in '07, some coworkers thought I must have got a huge promotion, etc, etc. We paid $8900 for it....Of course, I didn't share that info with them-
Still, that perception is out there...

A guy at work last year thought my 89 was "about a 2002" and probably cost "about 25,000". Then he commented on how there was no rust on the body.

Perception is 9/10ths of reality for most people.

Damn, Tommy, you must be refering to my model Taurus. I paid nothing for every one, I didn't pay for gas, I didn't pay for insurance or oil changes or a carwash. And I got a new free one every 60k miles in any color I picked. I can't even remember how many I had.

Yea, company car. The downside was that when I got out of the car at the end of every workday, I had to throw up.

The '71 obviously looks older style-wise, but it's funny how many people who aren't really into cars think my '88 is only a few years old.

Ignorance is Bliss. Best $6100 I think I ever spent.

When I drive to work, my supervisors say " man you drivers make too much money". I just smile and say " thats because we do all the work" They just roll their eyes.
