Wow, that's quite a transformation, Tommy. Guess I never looked at the kitchen cabinets very close before. Strange the originals didn't have drawers at the top of the base units. I see the new ones do.

Looks like the PO wanted to hide the house, seems to me that should tip off the officials to something going on.

Good thing I had plenty of stuff to fill up the house. Right Andy? I have room for 6 of my closest friends to come for a visit. 9 if you throw in the couch and the air mattress. Of course for the 2 of us it's just about right. Next project on the docket is the canvas carport/awning. 3 car carport and awning that will cover the well pump, water softening system and water filter. It's gonna be huge.

Wow, Tommy. I think the most dramatic change is the exterior...removing all that overgrown foliage made a huge difference! Did you repaint the exterior of the house, too?

I'm glad to see you got the guest room all ready for me.

Agreed, the "less is more" was a dramatic improvement. We replaced our old overgrown shrubbery over the last few years, and it made a big difference.

Uh, yea... plenty...

I am a bit torn by clearing all the green at the fence... it made for a real nice natural wall. But in FL, it was also a palmetto bug factory, so give and take.

Funny you should mention that. A dumptruck of soil has already been dumped and spread. My wife is putting in a rolling landscape. A few trees and some medium height plants and other ground cover. Look for it in future pics. A house is never done. Just a work in progress. Kinda like a Corvette or Porsche. There's always something .... Unless your Bill H. Then you go with a natural habitat and a C4 that just needs bi-weekly washing.

No muss, no fuss, no watering, no mowing , no trimming, no fertilizing, no weeding, no seeding - The Perfect Lawn

It's twice weekly washing, sometimes I wash it and pull it back into the garage then don't drive it until I wash it again.

Happy to report that all inspections but one have been finalized. The only one left open is the carport and it hasn't been built yet. Will take pics when available and probably add few more. Thanks for the moral support and postive comments gang.

Surprisingly, carports are better in FL than garages.

Garages have a tendency to trap moisture, and that will lead to rust problems and other corrosion. The carport will protect from the baking heat of the sun, but still allow for good air flow.

My brother found this one out when the top of his Volare started to rot...

Now... a nice climate controlled garage is a great place to work on a car, tho!

And as silly as it sounds, keeping the garage air conditioned will keep the rest of the house cooler, because that heat isn't trapped inside the garage. And technically, because that room isn't near the t-stat, it costs nothing to add a bit of cool to it.

I'll keep the garage door open alot so it gets airflow. That way it will be more like a carport.

That's the west side of the house. It gets strong afternoon sun. The energy savings could be appreciable.
