So Letty's unfortunate accident got me thinking. If your Corvette were gone for whatever reason....what would you replace it with?

As much as I love my car, I would have a hard time replacing it with another Corvette at this point in my life. With the two kids, I can't enjoy the car with both of them at the same time. I need something with a back seat. I think I would move towards an older car...40s, 50s, 60s...not even sure what it would be. I would still always want another Corvette, and probably get another one once the kids were older.

Anyone else?

Just add to the mix. A well rounded selection is best. A pick up ( Silverado 2500 crew cab), an SUV (Yukon XL or Suburban), an import sports car (Porsche), domestic sports car (Corvette), and a possibly sedan with beef (BMW 740 IL) comes to mind. How do you build a selection? One vehicle at a time.

I'd probably get another Corvette. I always loved 60's muscle cars, especially Mopars.

I would replace the GS......probably with another one maybe a newer one.

That's a tough call.....I have no inclination for anything foreign, we have pickups and SUV's........I like a newer Corvette for touring and there is nothing I don't like about my GS. Of course a C2 would be fun if I could have two toys and like Tom I would love to have an old Roadrunner or another 64 Polara.....

I guess I really don't want to have to make that choice.....Maybe a Z51 C7 would be in the cards......hell I don't know......

Cause it costs $15,000 to run a 10 race season and I have a 67 to build.

The only thing I'd buy besides a Corvette is something that costs more than a Corvette and performs as good.

Anyone got a spare one point two to lend me? I'll get that P1 above.

I'll tell you what it WON'T be - the Beamer 550I gt we finished at the shop today - for a $70k car that's the ugliest thing I've ever seen. A silver egg. Looks like any other Toyota thingie there is out there. The new higher priced white Benz he drove up in to pick it up, however is a complete nuther story

My first problem is that my 92 Vette is so connected to me... I have owned if for nearly 15 years. So when it goes, it will be like a part of the family has died.

What would I replace it with?

If money was no object, I would want a 2014 C7 in Lime Rock Green.

If money was a partial object, a 2010 or 2011 Grand Sport.

If money was an object, I would look for a good 6spd C4...First choice would be an 89 that I could modify more than little

I was VERY attached to my 96 - sold it locally, he tore it all to hell, then resold it locally, she's not treated it any better. I still see it up and down the roads in town. I cringe. Still feels like seeing your ex with another woman... wel.. er - like seeing your ex with another man in you guy's case....

My guess? They were doing maintenance.

It seems ok now. Thanks for alerting me. If it keeps up, I will dig deeper.

Probably a 96 LT4. Because I'm stubborn and don't like to embrace new stuff. Honestly I think it'd make my day if something "happened" to my 85... so long as it's covered by insurance.
