Well, in the process of google searching something else, I found this forum....I am absolutely elated...this is a very cool site with tons of 'real life' info...I've been reading posts for 2 days and I'm just amazed at how helpful everyone seems to be...

I have a Black 85 Coupe that I got for a good price...it needs lots of tlc but with all the info here I think it will be much easier...

I'm JeepCycle and I am an experienced Painter/Welder/Mechanic and I'm a Stereo geek....so if I can help anyone don't hesitate to call me out...In the meantime...I'm going to make like a sponge and suck up all the info I can here...

Cheers,
JC

Welcome! We might not have the volume of posts here that a few other Corvette sites do but if you value quality over quantity, you've come to the right place...

Well I belong to I guess "some" of the "other forums" and I like them just fine...but when I fell in here from cyberspace and started looking around...it was kind of like "skipping the smalltalk" and the "fingerfood" and getting right to the meat and potatoes...

Now I like to barbecue my own food over real wood coals and once it's time to eat I'm not wasting time on any nouveau greenbean almondine crapola...gimme my ribs, coleslaw, some kind of taters(baked or mashed), a beer, and don't get your hands close to me lest you lose them in my wood chipper of a mouth...

That's what this place feels like already...a backyard full of new friends...

Thank you kindly for the welcomes one and all...

I'll get a pic on soon...

Welcome! What part of the country you from?
Last year I attended a class at Corvettes of Carlisle where they installed a GM LSX motor into an auto trannied 85 coupe. It ran like stink and still got great gas mileage.
You can get the class booklet from www.corvettecentral.com should you be interested.

Welcome! I noticed your posts and you've been an asset already.

I have a black 85 coupe also. I did't have much experience before it, but I've been tearing this car apart over the past 6 years, so feel free to ask on any specifics. After a new bottom end and a repaint I think I'll have had my hands on every square inch of the damn thing.

Also we just switched to this forum software from something archaic, so if you have any suggestions or gripes, post away!

Welcome JC,

What part of the Poconos have you settled in? Over many years I have spent much time in Tannersville (Chateau at the bottom of Camelback), Tobyhanna and East Strausberg. I use-ta do a lot of commo training at the depot (TYAD).

I am in Nesquehoning, an old tiny little coal mining town, now home to KME one of the world leaders in Firefighting apparatus manufacture.

Nesquehoning means narrow valley in Mohawk or Algonquin...it is in Carbon County 4 miles from the County Seat....which is Jim Thorpe PA a Mountain Bike/ Whitewater Rafting/Paintball Mecca in the East.

The mountains, streams, and lakes make it a beautiful place to do anything winter or summer related.
We have some of the best Motorcycle roads, trout fishing, auto racing, hunting....well you get the picture...I'll always love "The Burgh" but I'll never move away from here.

It is about 25 miles from Tannersville as the crow flies.
