On this date in the year 2000, I took possession of my 1992 Coupe!

I was still living in Delaware and working in Wilmington, after work, a dear friend, Kennt, drove me up to New Jersey and picked the car up. Considering I have had it for 8 years and nearly 130k miles (it had 39k on it when I got it, I have 166k on it now), it was not a lemon!

As with any case of a ride like this, Ken wasn't financially inconvienced. I paid his turnpike and bridge tolls... and bought dinner.

Eight years, a wonderful wife and countless friends. I wouldn't trade it for anything...

Congrats. Mine hasn't gotten me a wife yet, but it sure has cost me as much as one! You two seem to be a very happy couple. And for that, I'm happy for you.

Thanks, gang!

I am planning a round of serious catch up maintenance.

I am going to do a clutch... then I realized, gee, with the tranny out, it's only 2 more bolts and the engine is out. So the engine will get all new seals and gaskets, new motor mounts and a damned good bath.

Congrats! Bet engine seals and gaskets turn into only a few more bolts and a hotcam, shoot, only a few more and the LT4 intake, and so on.

Wilmington, DE. Bet you meet a lot of west coasters that don't even know Delaware is a state, or if so they probably have no idea where it is. I grew up there and used to get that all the time. Maybe people are smarter now??

Delaware...

I went to Rehoboth beach once. My girlfriend who had the hot older sister with the first C4 I ever rode in... Her dad had a house down there.

I couldn't get over the fact that there was sand on both sides of the road where the loose gravel was supposed to be. Even many miles from the beach where there were trees on both sides of the road. Weird!

I'd lived all of my life in PA at that time, and don't know if I'd ever been out of state before.

Good times!

I still have to qualify it with "it's a small state near Philly..." They still look at me with a sense of wonderment.

Hot older sister with Vette. Damn, dude.

Rehoboth... Hebrew for street, IIRC.

Neat town. I prefer it off season! You can get into Grotto's that way!!

Very cool. Sorry I could not find the door hardware for your wife's 87. The parts area at Bloomington Gold (St Charles Gold?) is really shrinking. Maybe someone who goes to Carlisle could find them for you. One of the dealers there said that the used ones are usually cracked.

If I were you I'd be waiting until the summer driving season is over before starting a project like that, but weather is more of a concern here I guess. Have fun doing it.

We're in Lewes/Rehoboth/Bethany several times a year as we live about 90 minutes away near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Kent Island, MD.

Congrats Bogus.!!! Yesterday the first anniversary with my 90 vert.
This old hot rod has been virtually trouble free for me . I have managed to put 20,000 kms on it in the first year, not bad considering it's mainly used as a fun after work and weekend toy and was stored for most of that brutal winter we had.
We have also found allot of new Corvette related friends in the Toronto area.
What a blast the first year has been.

I know Kent Island very well. Lovely area.

When I lived in Delaware, I used to take the back roads from Dover to 301 then down to 50 to the Beltway on my way to FL. I will always associate going to FL with passing through Kent Island. Until I met bastet that is! When we were dating, I used BWI a lot... There is a great restaurant in Stevensville, Hemmingways. Love that place.

bastet and I spent a night in Kent Island about 5 years ago. I am trying to remember the hotel... it was either a best western or holiday inn... I will have to ask if she remembers. If I drove past, I would know!!!

I am noticing that most of my problems come from junk parts, not design flaws.
