Let me rephrase the point I was trying make.
Deionized water is typically monitored as resistivity not conductivity. Thats and industry standard. I'm not saying you can't measure the quality of the water using conductivity or even TDS for that matter. Resisitivity, imo is an easier unit of measure.

Usually eat out one or two days a week, then try and hit the supermarket and stock the work fridge with sandwich stuff.

I'm only 10 minutes from home, but I have a hard time coming back once I go there.

Yup just watching practice for the Gatorade Duel and there were 7 cars in the garage getting engines changed.

Seem to be lifter issues with the Hendrick engines.

Clint Bowyer was the only one with a fully blown engine.

The other engines being changed as a precaution but there are issues with the engines.

now that's a novel idea... infrastructure... our roads, bridges, plumbing and mass transits are in such bad shape...

True government stimulus comes from programs that get people working. The New Deal proved that. It also proved that it is a temporary solution for a temporary problem. Bush and his moronic friends haven't figured out that Supply Side is only a stopgap for a temporary problem. In the scheme of things, it doesn't work.

I know Toyota had some lifter/rocker issues... They were expecting a fix today. But I suspected that was an on engine repair.

Something to do with cams and lifters.

A friend of mine here at the office was telling me about someone he heard talking about the stimulus plan, suggesting that it would've made more sense to take that money and invest it in infrastructure than to hand it out so that folks could buy a bunch of Chinese junk. Smacks a bit of WPA, but it likely would've created some jobs, anyway.

New trans is here! :thumbright: GM's packaging sucks! It's just a huge cardboard box with some loose packing in there, looks like the trans was trying to escape the box during transit.

Also has a huge label on there about warranty: "Warranty will only be honored if GM fluid #........ is used."

It's also a blue tag. I've heard others mention green tags and grey tags for the replacements.

I have full coverage... mostly because there are too many uninsured assholes on the roads here in SoCal... and they are just as prone to rear end you and run as to actually fess up.

It ain't worth the angst... I will pay my premiums ($460 every 6 months) and be happy knowing that if someone hits me, I am protected from financial ruin.

I was really happy for her when she was starting to get recognition in Indy car. Then she turned into a sex symbol... Why can't she just be another driver who happens to be a woman, instead of a woman who happens to be a driver? Bah!

She is pretty though, I'll give her that.

GM ended the year at 38.7 billion in the red....thats a record folks. The fourth quarter loss of 722 million came as gm showed signs of progress.

The Dow ind. rose 133.40 points to 12373.41 as a rally fueled by gains for financial and industrial stocks lost steam.

Obama beat Clinton in the Potomac primaries. (by a big margin) The big one is on March 4th for Ohio and Texas (for delegates). McCain wins in a closer call.

"Over half the veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who committed suicide were Guard and Reserve troops, new data shows". from the Wall Street Journal.

Clemens set to testify in Congress today. Roger Clemens testifies today on allegations he used steroids and HGH during his career.

so the closer you are to pure the Higher the resistivity of that water the lower the rate the metal will dissolve into said water.

Huh? Dissolving and galvanic corrosion are two seperate things. Pure water (agressive water) will absorb more metals, not less. It won't stay pure for long.

Distilled water has to be stored in plastic or glass or tin for that reason.

yes I think he took the "juice" as well as probably who knows how many others.... It is my personal opinion that Congress has a vested interest in this issue because of the ramifications..... Sports as it fits in the "big picture" is a great distraction for people. Get them involved, immersed in sports and people will not focus on how miserable their lives might be, their dead end jobs, the crazy taxes etc...

Now if it were shown that sports is not "pure and pristine" but played by people who are using performance enhancers or worse then people stop looking at sports and start looking at those other things I mentioned....and the government cannot have an unhappy populace....

That's my take on the conspiracy....

Guilty, but could care less. Steroids have been rampant in Baseball since the early 90's. Nobody cared until Bonds came along. And where the hell is he currently?

DOES NOT EXIST.

Trust me, I've looked high and low. BTW, don't confuse it with stated value or actual cash value, they are different.

Your only choices are to be either under insured, or to lie to your insurer about your driving habits.

Question: Why do you think your car is worth more than other similar ones in the autotrader? An insurer doesn't want to cover a $10K car for $15K because it opens them up to fraud. And in all honesty, why should you ever be entitled to more than replacement value?

I have no illusions about the value of my car....lol I know its a 93 with over 216k on the clock, and while it has alot of sentimental value, actual value is probably a lot less.... having said that, in the event of an accident I would probably want to be able to take off the stuff I want (i.e. undamaged wheels, and the engine if its modded) and not see it totaled out with the salvage guy taking the stuff.... cut me a check for 7 or 8k and I probably can find another one to drive till the wheels fall off....

Most of the head gasket problems are at #7 and occurred well before 50,000 miles. Yours may have been repaired at some time. GM's Bulletin tied the problem to misaligned intake gaskets which led to galvanic corrosion, which eventually eroded the head gasket (and plugged up everything else). Their solution was to counterbore the intake mounting holes for gasket retainers and current production, replacement heads, have this feature. Checking #7 is as simple as pulling the plug. Look for rust on the plug threads.

phrases that sound real familiar to this topic.

Yeah, but does it have limitations on how/where/when you can drive it?

Also is it Stated Value or Agreed Value? Does it mention Actual Cash Value anywhere? Read that policy carefully, most/all agents don't know squat about these types of policies and will tell you what you want to hear.

Obviously each state can differ, but the shit hits the fan when you have to deal with the adjuster. Rest assured, these guys will know how the policy works and they aren't going to write you a check for $10K if they don't have to. And by then it's too late.

None of the dozen or so agents I spoke with would allow me to talk to the adjusters or people that make those decisions. They all said that I'd have to wait until there was a claim to do that. Uh, no thanks dude!

Actually, it may be possible to retain most, if not all of the dash functions. Someone will have to go through the wiring diagrams and see what needs to go where and whether voltage values are compatible, to determine what needs to be done. There are some other PCM options available if the LT1 computer doesn't have everything necessary, but I'm sure someone in good standing with the geek squad can figure out how to make everything work.
