Winter's finally catching up with us here in NC. We got some snow last night but it's been melting all day. But the weekend's going to be cold so I'll get the wood stove roaring in the garage and hopefully get some things done. There's always more to do on the Vette, plus there's no end to other work to be done, including continuing improvements to the shop itself. I'd make a list but don't want to make a major dent in the bandwidth capabilities here! :thumbleft: You know how it goes.

Going to a big local Corvette show Saturday with Toptechx6 and a couple other C4 guys from the general vicinity. Well, that's the plan anyway...

Yea, same here in Ga on the winter catching up. I'm going to try and get motivated to replace the intake gaskets on my DD 95 GP. That Florida show seems like a much better idea.

My Corvette Club is having our annual Mid-Winter Dinner tomorow night. The wife and I got a room at the neighboring hotel. This is always a real blast. We have a good time. Kind of go over the past year's drag races, shows and memorable events.

Other than that I hope to get of my arse and re-install my heads and even perhaps the intake manifold this weekend.

I'm looking forward to our regional NCCC banquet sometime in the coming weeks. This'll be the first time I've made it and it's said to be a great party.

In south Florida, we have a Corvette show in Boca Raton on Saturday.

Oh yea, shop for a new car for my wife. Lease is running out on the old one.

Run on Sat. Sun. and Monday at the beach. I know, its a tough job but someone's got to do it.

Have a great weekend. :thumbleft:

Monster trucks, snowboarding, and maybe Disneyland. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

One of these days I'll have to try snowboarding and surfing in the same day. Only in California!

But I don't even have a Tivo to record the games. Chargers/Pats play Sunday right?

All the new residential developments in Wisconsin have model homes decorated like that. If they're in the central/southern part of the state, the builder throws in fifty pounds of brats when you close. If it's up north, you get a coupon book good for ten fish boils...

Spent an entire day convincing myslef I have no business playing with welders and metal, ordered a fabbed part instead and threw out $40 in metal

one way or theother by Sun night I will either have some decent welds and the backhalef totally reinforced so it leaves straight or blow holes in my frame, one or the other.

Well it's Saturday night and I had three things I wanted to complete on my C4,

1. Find what was blowing the fuse between my battery and my amp.
2. Fix the drivers door inside door handle.
3. Reinforce the area where the drivers door speaker screws into.

All were completed successfully, the wire from the battery to the amp was pinched by the drivers seat causing a short and blowing the fuse, I replaced the wire. The drivers door handle spring broke, had to drill out the old door handle and rivit in a new one ($25.00 used). Third, had to get two pieces of aluminum and rivit them into the fiberglass on the drivers door so the speaker would have something to screw into. Cleaned car and put car cover on, ready to go for Tuesday. :thumbright:

Well, lessee.....

Started cutting into my frame without any real experience, came out pretty good, was hesitant to be honest .

After proudly stepping back and admiring my handiwork and patting myself on the back as everything appeared to line up pretty well and level I kinda stopped in my tracks when I noticed...

I cut exactly half of my brand new KYB dust cover with the blade. Right smack down the middle of the sticker, too LOL! Perfect.

Anyway tomorrow I get to weld. Hope the place doesnt burn to the ground.
Gotta learn somehow!

Making a crossbrace behind the spring/shock assy' (on the 67) to stiffen things up, also a good place to hang a plate from to mount an electric pump if I feel the need to down the road. The provision will be there and no need to drop the tank at that point. In the meantime its a waste of time and money

All I know is I want to drive it and Im sick of seeing it sit around.

So what's your progress report? I guess I might stumble across it in these 3 days of unread posts. At least us mods get paid big bucks though, I can't complain.
