Seems today President Obama signed a Emissions bill that Will let each state decided what it wants the smog & gas mileage standards to be for a car instead of the federal government.

What I have been reading on this there are 13 or 15 states that want more strict standards that the fed standards. That sounds rather scary.

As I sit here freezing my butt off, and waiting for the next blast of 6-8" of snow to arrive, I realize we are getting what we asked for. Mr. Obama made no secret of the fact that he leaned hard to the left and supported the environmentalist movement. The White House also said yesterday that anthropomorphic global warming is real, and America will combat it.
We will end up taxing Americans and American business and giving that money to the UN, (cap and trade).

I didn't vote for Obama, but America did, we're getting what we asked for, he didn't hide it, but the news media did.

Yes, nothing like having to conform to 50 flavors.

We won't. We'll make it to the strictest standard and everyone else will suffer. To date there has been the "US 49" and a separate set for California. Now my guess is that we'll simply implement the california standard across the board (or whomever steps us with the strictest).

The economy is failing, we are fighting multiple "wars," American's are losing jobs daily, and this guy is concerned about emissions.

Gotta love the Democrats.

The manufacturers should just form a pact and boycott California. You want a car with no emissions? Ride a bicycle. Just don't eat a burrito while doing it.

What a stir that would cause. Problem is the manufactures aren't in a position to do that right now, and even if they did companies like Toyota who have practically unlimited funds would find some way to meet the ridiculous demands of California, and all the other states that follow.

I heard it discussed on the news yesterday.

The sticking point was the manufacturers wouldn't be able to afford it, and they hadn't even spoken on it yet. So it was thought to be a non-issue.

But if Balack bro'Bama really did sign, it might be because the whiners DID get the billion$.

The government is blowing you money on both sides of the issue.

Obama has delusions that this will create jobs, because the manufacturers have to invest in more overhead to acheive these goals. Of course, higher costs result in higher prices.

But of course, the big 3 are broke. So the government has to line their pockets with your money in order to keep them in business and paying union benefits.

And the end result of all this is still a car you don't want to buy.
