How the heck you get out the front door? And here I whine about three inches of snow here! I still hate the crap.. and one of yous jinxed me and we're getting it Friday.

Might as well - been a strange day. I mentioned to my publisher being a smart-aeleck about they'd probably issue Christmas bonuses and a holiday party after my group is already gone. My last day is 12/16 and wouldn't you know - an invitation on my desk this morning for a party the very next day! I was told it was not a mistake that all of us actually are invited and our dinners will be paid for. Reckon I should go and sucker them out of one more free meal? (sarcasm)
Then the publisher from Mississippi sent me two more jobs today that are not supposed to be coming to me for the last two months. wonder what he'll do when I'm gone? (without...)
And, if that's not the icing on the cake - they can't keep me and pay my meager salary but they hired me for an 80-page book today on a freelance basis - three times what they pay me at the office. Now, what kind of sense does that make?
And, now, instead of my 12-week severance in bi-weekly direct deposits, (which would keep me in line finance wise) I will now get a lump sum Dec. 24th.
Well, at least I won't have to take down that 12-foot tree, all those lights and that 100-foot hallway full of garland I had to put up hehe....

Not much here either, just the usual same crap different day sort of thing. This time was mama's hot water heater. The water dept. there cut the water off months ago but not all the way. I now have an effed up hot water heater, wet floor, wet wall, mess of crap and wonder the house didn't burn down.

My hiney is draggin too. Was a long weekend. Bad day Friday at work, then finished up on the vette's radiator and vacuum lines Saturday, now fans aren't working. No telling how long that's been going on, another puzzle. Hmmm. Washed it, washed mother's car, unloaded all my office crap out of there, headed to teh woods and was in the deerstand most of the day. Nope. saw nothing. Figures. Ton of squirrels tho. Wonder what'd happen to those at that close of a range with a 30-06 rifle? Settling in with some chinese food and my jammies. Y'all have a good night.

My eyes are crappy, I'm nearsighted and have a very different astigmatism in both eyes. I do wear contacts but if the astigmatism gets worse, I'll end up special ordering them. They cost enough as it is. If this house sale goes through in January, I plan to schedule Lasix surgery.... I'm hoping that if they can at least make it a lot better (I don't expect it to be perfect) then at least I can wear 'normal' lenses.

Please see a doctor/specialist. Diabetes constricts the capillaries in your feet and and without proper circulation, you know what happens. It also affects your body in other ways and eventually causes other health problems. Diabetes was only one of the things I saw mother deal with.
I know what it feels like to have more on you than you can bear, believe me and you can't help how it makes you feel and how you react to that only reinforces the fact that you are only human. Best wishes this holiday season and prayers that your health will improve.

Worked my hiney off today, then picked up the two 'feeds a family of 6' dinners I ordered for us for the holidays. No one is in the mood nor has the time to cook and for less than $100 we got two huge birds, bunch of sides, two desserts, the whole mess. Works for me.

Thanks much. The paramedic thing is looking better all the time. If I could go back to chemistry/premed-general surgery I would, but it's been way too long. But wow the money would be nicer. Either way, paramedics don't do too bad for themselves here.

What of us are left have pretty much decided to not to anything. We all have to work the day before and after and it's really not worth the effort on our end for four or five people. All my fits from friday at work came back to bite me today, ended up in the publisher's office over all that crap. Just what I need two weeks before my permanent vacation. Trying to keep my nose clean but this one old hag purposefully pushes my buttons. Turns out wasn't just me she hacked off friday and three or four others were after her too. We'll see how that plays out. Applied for another open slot at the office today as well. Don't expect to get it but at least the unemployment office can't say I didn't try. Having a nice burbon and coke and settling in for the evening.

Looks like something I'd like to use on a couple of peeps at work...

A lot of guys I have dated said it bothers them that I am independent and don't let them pay all the time, and do stuff to my own car and fix things around the house. I try not to depend on a man for anything, i don't expect one to take care of me, I work I can pay my own bills. If he wants to be nice I'll accept but dont' expect stuff. In return, if I'm treated well I treat my man VERY well, on all levels. Should be a team. Problem is, there aren't any men around here that are worth a crap that don't beat on you or cheat on your or simply be an ass. I"m worth more than that. I will stay single before I get serious with anyone and put up with bullcrap and be tied down for some worthless man. that's what batteries are for...the fun without all the bullcrap that goes with it.

No buck, the lady and her husband who's house I was at - her leg got all swollen and stuff and her daughter took her to the er this morning. I helped watch three kids, then when their daddy got up, the rest of us refilled the feeders and stuff to get ready for the Thanksgiving hunt. I also found a deer killed by someone last weekend. They shot it, but never found it. I found it, nice little 8 point it was....

Towed it home, bought a new one. I got that put in today. Sheesh. Could have fixed it I suppose but after 14 years and 235,000 miles figured I'd splurge for a new one.

I have been in some lurking around, just not posted. it's been a stressy last few months to say the least but I have not forgotten you all. I seen where some have sick babies, wives, etc. I'm sorry to hear and hope all goes well and am very sorry about the wife leaving in this post. That I'm sure is hard too. I hope things have been good for everyone and you all are set for a good Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

You are both adults, don't worry so much about it and simply ASK or TELL what you think/want. Enjoy the company, show us some good pics, have fun most of all and if something happens, fine, if it don't - fine. If it's sex, fine you're grown you can handle it. And so is she. And, contrary to popular belief - not all women are 'emotionally attached and expect/need a relationship' from sex or otherwise. I've been single for four years. Sure I've dated, and one was serious, the minute his shit started staying her I got freaked and out he went. I like my space and don't like a leash. Maye one day the right one will show up and we'll meet in the middle but I'm not looking for it. Set in my ways I suppose. I do not like having someone up my butt 24/7 and into my biz and bank account. Sure help with car repairs and stuff is nice but I dont' like cleaning up after sloppy men, refuse to share a bathroom with one, and as far as car repairs, well I can do most of those myself. Don't get me wrong, I don't sit home, but I'm enjoying my freedom and 'relearning' who I am after two divorces. There wont' be a third. I can't afford it for one and two, I simply find it hard to trust a man. The first one I really loved but he ended up being a wife-beating crack addict a year later, the second was a cop who couldn't keep a job and lied a lot. Others I dated and got decently serious with ended up being cheaters and treated me like shit. Screw it - I'll just date, not be serious and just enjoy life and have fun.
You are single and young and healthy - there's noting wrong with having a 'friend with benefits' if it comes to that and I'm sure she's mature enough to handle it. Those are nice. You can have a 'sort of' relationship with out the committment and fussy-wussiness yet still get out with one another, enjoy each other's company, have sex or whatever and not be all messed up about it.
I have learned the hard way recently with three family losses in one week - life is tooooooooo short - enjoy every moment you can and don't give a shit about what others think so long as you are happy and not hurting anyone.
Remember - your life will pass you by one day - make sure it's worth watching.
