OK so we all have Corvettes and opinions galore. Everyone always asks whats wrong and we get many answers.
I have a new question. Whats the one tool you purchased that you cannot do without? For me I like the idea of the ball joint sockets. Wasn't too sure so I went to Harbor Freight (buy most my not sure items here) They had an impact set with 1- 3/8 drive and 1- 1/2 . Used them the other day now I'm gonna buy a good set I was that impressed Since I'm pretty sure most of us like to wrench tell us about your favorite item in the old roll around :thumbleft: |

Best tool?
I'm not much of a mechanic. So, the best one is a BFH (Big Fu..... Hammer) If I can't fix it, I can beat on it until I feel better............ |

I recently purchased a Terralux 60 cordless LED work light. I'm really happy I got rid of that damn cord. Always in the way, or routed around the car the wrong way, or ... you name it. It's not as bright as my florescent, but makes up for it in being very user-friendly.

Actually I like my straight gear wrenches, but will be buying the adjustable angle version this weekend. Blue Nytril gloves and a fluorescent work-light |

Ive got 2x1,000 watt halogen worklamps that are great in winter, keep you nice and warm as well as lighting
everything up so much its brighter than day time.... This is the best tool i own though, And im going to add these to my V28 arsenal (along with a rotary hammer, sawzall, and cirular saw, these tools are so much more versatile without a cord!!): A 2,000kg trolley jack that can lift the car to 510mm (from a fully lowered height of 90mm) very quick and easy is next on the list; The tool trolley is invaluable, cant do without that for getting tools and parts from point A to point B]http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a185/Casethecorvetteman/Car%20work/Tools%20and%20equipment/tooltrolley1.jpg[/img] Loaded with the metric spanners on the back (others are on the bottom shelf) going from 6mm right through to 32mm with everything in between... And whatever else i forgot!! |

I've been working mostly on the interior so I'd have to say that the old reliable philips head screwdriver has been my staple tool for the last 6 months.

Tire pressure gauge. I don't know if it's the best but it's the most important.

In the toolbox, the wire cutter stripper splicer thing is the most used. Not in the toolbox, but the most used tool is the tech section. Problem diagnostics is 1/2 the fix.

I have several favorites. The one I use most often is my set of 1/4" drive snap on wobble head extentions. I use the 3/8" quite a bit too.
Something I couldnt do without though are my magnetic trays. I use some for holding tools, others for fasteners, bolts, nuts. Gearwrenches Crash, I really wanted one of those boxes when they came out but the $$$ :shaking: |

I have a class four PFD that I use all the time. It's rugged and makes any chore that requires my butt on the floor much easier.

I am by no means a master mechanic, although I'll try almost anything. That being said I guess the best tool I have is an American Express Card.

Probably my cordless impact gun.
Gear wrenches are next. If I had to give one up, obviously I'd take the wrenches over the gun, but damn does that gun save me some time and work. |
