Cool cars guys!

Hey, 81c3, do you still have the factory wheels from your Z06? If so, are they for sale? :toothy5:

I don't have pix of most of these cars, but here's what I've had in order of ownership. I started driving in '87.

'72 VW Beetle (My dad and I put dual Webers and wide fenders and stuff on it)
'84 Honda CRX
'89 Honda Prelude
'88 Toyota MR2
(Then I had kids....)
'86 Chrysler Lebaron
'88 Honda CRX Si
'93 Ford Probe GT
'95 Ford Ranger Splash
'83 Toyota Celica GT
'92 Ford Explorer
'93 Acura Integra
'68 Plymouth Fury
'72 Ford F250
'86 Honda Prelude Si
'01 Suzuki Esteem
'89 Isuzu Amigo
'93 Corvette

This does not include my motorcycles or my wife's cars. Most of the cars in this list after getting married had over 100k miles on them.

The Lebaron was the biggest POS in terms of how the car felt.

The Ford F250 was the one that gave me the most trouble.

The Plymouth Fury was the only car I ever sold at a profit. Paid $800, put about $100 into it and sold it for $1,500. Bought it in 2002 from the original owner and had it for about 18 months.

The MR2 is the car I miss the most. Bought that one and the '89 Prelude brand new. I was living at home and working as an assistant manager for a Kay Bee Toy & Hobby store in Harrisburg, PA. I think I was making like $15,000 a year, and spent almost all of it on toys. It was fun, but stupid now that I look back on it.

The Corvette is my overall favorite car that I've ever owned.

Really?

You probably didn't have the "Rich Correntian Leather" model, did you?

Nope. I was not that fortunate. I'd probably still have that car if it did.... NOT!

Looked like this... Gold, burgundy interior, and groovy styled steel wheels though. Overheated on me on a long trip. Had to have the head milled, but no other damage. What a dog...

Hey Chris,
No, I sold the originals and the HRE 545's also. I now have GM Z06 wheels again, only chromed this time. The sale of the wheels with some other stuff, helped fund the ZR1 I bought!

We had one of those, but a turbo - it was semi-quick compared to a lot of the dogs of the era. However, it burned to the ground

You've had some cool stuff. My non-Vette favorites are the '64 hardtop and the ('64-'65 ?) Malibu SS. I'd love to find a solid '64 Impala hardtop at a reasonable price to build for my son. It's his favorite car in the world.

OMG, I had an 86 lebaron as well, it was the convertible with the Mark Cross leather and turbo. It was actually a really nice car and I got a ton of compliments on it. People might laugh, but the car actually got more attention then any Corvette I ever drove, especially when I had the top down on a really nice day. I miss that car. It was in the shop on a monthly basis, but it was fun to drive.

Gee... I haven't bought/sold many cars. Mostly because my Mom was uber-conservative and wouldn't let me... seriously...

Each car, in order:

1976 AMC Pacer (12/81 - 9/84) - What a POS this thing was. It handled, stopped, rode and accelorated like an economy car... yet got crappy gas mileage. The 258 I6 was good for 15~20 MPG, tops.

1981 Toyota Celica GT (9/84 - 10/89) - Much nicer. It atleast looked like a real car. Drove well. Put over 60k miles on it. The only real weakness was with the head. The valves in the 22R were prone to burning themselves to death. Did cam, head, intake, carb (Weber) and a header. It actually ran after that. Just needed gearing. When it was in good shape, it got upper 20s on the highway. Not stellar, damned early emissions systems, really.

1989 Honda Accord DX Coupe (6/89 - 2/91) - Nice enough. Very reliable, which I needed with my new job. Good on gas (30 or so, highway). Nice ride, good handling. Just boring... way too stripped!

1991 Honda Accord LX Coupe (2/91 - 9/92) - Much better. Had some features. Power stuff. Better gas mileage due to having cruise control. 33 MPG at a steady 75 MPH. Sold to my Mom in 9/92, she sold it in 2001.

1992 Honda Prelude Si (9/92 to 3/94) - GREAT CAR. Best handling FWD car EVAR! Awesome. Balanced and quick. Decent mileage on the highway, 28 or so. Niece wrapped it around a tree; bent like a pretzel (she is ok!)!

1994 Honda Prelude Si VTEC (3/94 - 10/2000) - Almost great. The stock suspension was softened and the handling went to shit. I put a Koni/Eibach/Ingalls suspension kit under it. That fixed it and then some. Added +0 tires (205/55/15 to 225/50/15) on stock rims. Looked right. The engine was a gem. Sold it with 173k miles on it and put 170k of them on it! Between my brothers, service techs and KPotter, they put the other 3k on it! Ended up being the best car I owned.

1992 Corvette Coupe, LT1/MN6 (6/2000 to Present) - Bought this after the Lude was in a minor accident. It just wasn't perfect anymore and I really wanted an American car with a V8 and RWD. Time for something different... This was different. Generally, it has been a good car. I bought it with 39k miles and it now has 169k. Still runs like a moderate champ. Paint is dead and the clutch sucks, but that's about it, really. On the highway, it gets mid-20MPG!

1993 Jeep Cherokee 2WD/I6/A4 (1/2007 to Present) - Our Beater Jeepers. Great little truck thingy. The driveline is bulletproof! Paint sucks. Gets decent mileage, too. Great utility with tons of charactor and good durability.

Hey Andy, you should include all cars, not just the ones that run.
