The 1200 degree ceramic clear coat helped to prevent chipping and is much easier to keep clean, I have not used chemicals on them, have not had to so far...

The rotors are from RockAuto,,, but I got the Calipers and pads from a guy on CF.

That's pretty cool and it's no doubt worth a few bucks. If you're considering unloading it, do your homework first. Although toys can vary widely like anything else, the occasional odd piece just might blow your mind. You never know. Just last year I paid over $50 for a pair of vintage, bullet-nosed Studebaker toy cars with friction engines. And just like with many of the real cars I've bought over the years, one was "nice" and the other was for "parts!"
When I was a teen, I worked at a Shell station. In between pumping gas, washing windshields and doing repairs inside, we also often cleaned up cars for the car lot next door. One salesman whom I'll never forget was the quintessential used car salesman known as "Smiley" Jack Miley. And he once told me something that I've never forgotten. He'd brought some real POS car over there for me to clean up. And he waited on it as I did, because he was going to show it to someone. I knew him well enough by then that I could say something like this to him. The car, which I don't even remember what it was, was an obvious piece of shit to anyone with the slightest savvy in these matters. So as I was finishing it up I asked him, "Jack, who would buy a piece of shit like this?" He replied without hesitation, "Son, there's an ass for every seat!"
This is only partially relevant to your subject but the point is, there's almost always someone, somewhere who'd give their left nut for even the most seemingly worthless item. Whenever possible, it always pays to be patient and take the time to find that buyer.

Oh and whatever you do, don't try to "restore" it. "As is" condition is almost always the most desirable option to collectors.

I bought a strut from vette2vette for $30 if I recall.

No track times yet.

The front rides great, very responsive but no roll when I dart back and forth.... Overall I cant say definitively until I do the rears in the next month or so.

If you have a newer Vette i.e. 88 or 89 (?) and newer you just bolt the shocks on in the front, add the HEIM link and you are done.

On the rear there is some finessing,, go to www.ndneyes.com and you can get part numbers etc .

You do have mad skills man.
Thanks, my dad was really my inspiration. He built the house he lives in now from the ground up. He came down here about 2 years ago and showed me some things and I then realized that I could easily do this stuff...I then realized that it wasnt so easy but still do-able.

It was around $430 shipped. At the time I hadn't seen one under $505.

That looks nice and I have thought about the reverse GS stripe, but I favor the split GT looking stripe. My whole reason for wanting to do this, is that I'm hoping that within a month or two I will be bringing my car out of the garage with a nice running motor with some added extra HP and punch, and I'd like to give it a bit more attitude on the looks side too! I have always liked the stripe. "MinnesotaWhite" from CF has; a black skunk stripe on his white coupe. It looks great. I only would want it in Torch Red. I think the torch red stripe complements the torch red interior as well. I also would like to put the black GS wheels on it with 315s in the rear and lower it a pinch too. I guess it is my "Waxer" side showing through my greasy fingernails!!!

Personally I'm not a big fan of most cosmetic mods. But that's just my taste. These aren't bad, and I certainly wouldn't give any shit to someone who has them and likes them. If I thought they were tasteless or tacky though and you asked, believe me, I'd tell ya'!

No need to have a hissy, just because no one saw this and responded as quickly as you'd like. I just saw your PM too, BTW. I have many things inside my engine ceramic coated including the piston tops. I also have the Teflon coating on the skirts. The stuff stays on, no worries there. The price is not too bad and the benefits go on for the life of the engine. The ceramic coatings aid in overall efficiency and power and the Teflon of course also has benefits in efficiency due to reduced friction, as well as longevity.

If he doesn't finish is that still considered a use?

I replaced my original opti (later style) at '93K miles while doing some other engine work. It was still functioning fine. It's a factory replacement, the MSD had not yet become available at that time. It too has been functioning equally well for going on 35K miles now. That being said, if I ever have to replace it, I'll go with the MSD, just because I know it's a better built unit. But my engine's pretty well modified too. It's really your call based on your priorities. In contrast to the many "opti haters" I think that the later opti (especially) is a solid and reliable unit for most applications.

Don't like either, but I like the GS style stripes. They look like C5 wannabe stripes.

There seems to be so many great plans for this spring and summer, I hope my car gets completed soon!!!!

If everything is runing well and good by then, I'll be there with bells on. I've never done this and always wanted to.

That number will go up and down depending on who clicked "Logoff" vs just closing their browser.

It's just a session counter. I expect the number to increase as I increased the inavtivity logout time.

I did that as a workaround to the automatic login request.

Maybe it's my imagination but it sems the number of memmbers logged in at any one time seems to be down quite a bit. If you had bookmarked the Forums page instead of the C4-Guru homepage, you might assume the site is still down. I'm wondering if that might be the case. Any way to send an admin email to the membership with links to the new site?

I have been training and competing in the dog sport Schutzhund for close to 15yrs The sport originated in Germany as a breed worthy test for the German Shepherd dog. Though many of the clips on this compliation are some other dog sports of similar nature with several different breeds of dog. I train and compete with a German Shepherd dog. Thought you may find this entertaining there is much more to the sports than what what you see here this is sort of a high lite reel. http://www.israeldogs.com/videoclips/greatattacks.wmv
