Afternoon guys....it was a bad night and has been a busy morning. The computer parts that I ordered came in, in two boxes, the case and all the rest of the parts. The case box 'looked' a bit funny and when I opened it it looked like someone had drop kicked it and then sat on it...on-line chat with the supplier, no problem they gave me an RMA and I send it back. But wanted to get this computer out, so I grab an older case that I had sitting around and clean it up good and install all the parts and I go to fire it up and the brand new power supply doesn't...supply power that is. It's deader than a door nail. Pull out my PS tester and yup, it's dead. I don't have another PS on hand so I'm stuck again. It just wasn't my night with that stupid computer.

Today I have been busy working on some plans for the school remodeling projects. Got middle schoolers coming in have to go.

I never had to "get physical" with any of the daughters 'friends'.....they know I would have if need be.

Morning guys...been busy again this morning. Ron that's a lot to have accomplished for the time so far. We don't have anywhere near that accomplished, but then again I don't have anywhere near as many students as you. ultraman....I remember when my #1's beau asked for permission, we were moving her from Omaha to KC and he wanted to ride with me. I had him squirming for 3 hours. I laid it out very much like you, I really thought he might bail, but it turns out he's a great guy and has been very good for her.

Got finished last night with the scholars bowl at about 7:30. Three hours of questions and some smart-a$$ answers. Had one question that had them nearly rolling in the isles. The question was about Lake Titicaca in South America, just me saying the name had them snickering and laughing. Got to admit it was a little difficult to keep a straight face saying it.

I got computer parts coming in today to build a desktop for a lady and a new HDD for a laptop to replace, and reload, so I have some work to do tonight. I also have a lady here in town that called and said she had two chairs she wanted me to take apart and reglue. So I have a few small jobs to keep me busy. Next week will go by fast....I hope, testing all day on Monday then Thursday...all day and into the night parent/teachers conferences. Friday we have off because of working into the evening for P/T. We are headed for KC Friday.

That was just downright MEAN....

Good morning gurus...been a busy morning already. We are hosting "Scholars Bowl" meet today and I am one of the "Alex Trebecks". We had a meeting this morning to discuss the questions and the answers.

Then my first hour class took lots of individual attention doing design drawings. At the end of class the superintendent walks in and tells me that the school board, last night, approved my request for a large format scanner (42" color) and new large format printer (44" Designjet). So I've been on the phone with the supplier for a written bid for the equipment and software.

Hey Ron, take care there. We usually get those types of storms in the spring time....not October.

Wow guys....good morning. I don't own a hand gun...but I have considered one, just to have "in case". My little brother has like 30....revolvers, semis and even one single shot (hehehe). I like his glock 9mm, fun gun to shoot.

We are in for a huge change in weather this week, yesterday mid 70's light breeze, today a cold front is moving through and the wind is supposed to start blowing. Hard freeze and more "seasonal" temps.

It's going to be a busy next two weeks here at school. Start doing standardized testing to all students and then parent/teacher conferences next week. Fun time coming.....

I've been up and at 'em since pretty early. It's a beautiful day today mid 40's, sunny and a light breeze. I don't have much planned today, I think I'll try and get the Corvette out and go for a ride.

I have just gotten home from working the sub-state volleyball. 6 hours of volleyball. Thank goodness I didn't have to make any critical calls. We did see some really good volleyball though. I'm tired so I think maybe I'll hit the hay early tonight.

Good morning....hey get it the way you want it, you're paying for it, so have it done right. We are headed to the grandson's last football game today, then later I am working, as a line judge, for Sub-state volleyball tourney we are hosting. Our football team last night got their arse handed to them. The other team was really pretty good, it could have been 100-0.

If the weather is nice, I'd like to get teh Corvette out for a drive

You guys have me in stitches this morning.....We have a game here tonight, we're going to lose...no doubt about that, but we are having a competition with the other town, supporting Cancer research. We're wearing pink today, had special shirts made, so lots of pink today. I work the game tonight so it will be interesting to see how much pink will be in the two sets of bleachers.

My morning started out not so good. I grabbed my shoes to put them on and immediately that hand's thumb felt like I got jabbed by a hot needle. Dropped the shoes and turned on the light and find I've been stung by a wasp. Wife says "I saw a wasp flying around in here yesterday." "Well he found a place to spend the night." So I've had ice on my thumb. It will go a while and be OK, then all the sudden it aches like heck and I can't pick up a pencil. Right now it's OK but I'm sure it will be back.

Don, that sounds like a decent deal! Matt, I hope you get the car fixed soon. Ron, I know what you mean, if they bitch open up the doors, then listen to them bitch.

Don, I've never driven a Z06, but they are nice cars. The C5's have a lot that the C4's don't have. Although I wished I'd been in a position to keep them both, I'm not sorry that I went with the C5. I know what you mean about getting the interior that you want, the mod red isn't all that tough to find. A speedway white with mod red would be ideal for you.

Bill I thought the same thing, Arizona seemed like a long way to go for a set of spark plugs Tommy, I like the Excalibers, kind of a cool cruisin' car. Matt, she just wants you to know who's boss. Someday she'll get the picture..... Ron, it's hard to believe that you have so much going on there all the time....I just have to laugh. I tell your stories to the others teachers in the workroom at lunch, and they get a laugh out of them too.

Ron, I really feel sorry for some of the people who get infected by these things...generally the older generation, who trust, what appears to be Microsoft or some other company Norton, AVG....whatever. So they immediately think they should spend the money and download the "Fix". I'm at a BS VocEd meeting today. On break right now. I'm so tired of all the crap the state jams down our throats.

Ron, I know what you mean...my administration, after a ton of years basically leaves me alone, except when it requires state or fed funding, then they make me do what is required. My principal walked in today during my 4th hour class to do a "walk through evaluation" not a formal evaluation, just a little walk through to check what I am doing, what the kids are doing, whether or not I have all the appropriate posters up on the wall....etc. I have one of these each month. Then later on I'll have a "formal evaluation". Which he basically does the same thing, only I have to go in and talk to him about it and sign papers saying that I agree/disagree with his evaluation.

I have a meeting to attend tomorrow, Principal requested that I go, so I made all the arraignments to attend at their end, today I ask him who my sub was going to be....he had forgotten to tell the secretaries I was going to be gone, so they had to scramble to find subs. Then we called the transportation guy, he'd never gotten a request for a vehicle, so he had to re-arrange so we would have a vehicle. I'm getting the idea that they really didn't want me to go to this. Actually I'd rather not either, but I guess I have to.

Maybe we should all indulge in a SA Octoberfest or two tonight.

Good morning....I slept in this morning and have done nothing but watch a little TV I had recorded on DVR. I need to go out to the shop and do a little work. It'll be nice to just relax some today. Next weekend will be totally different.

We had a home game last night which I worked. I'm about footballed out. I've got nothing much planned for the weekend after the game this morning.

Hey gurus....I will second my approval of FRIDAY....Kids are a bit more rowdy today. I'm not sure if it is the weather, or the game tonight or because it's Friday, but things are a little unsettled today. End of the first quarter, that may have something to do with it.

Work the game this evening, then watch middle GS play football tomorrow. At least it's not too far to drive (27 miles). Went to watch the older GS play last night. A good 1 1/2 hour drive...nice part was, it was just the wife and I, so we took the Corvette.

Had to take a break here for a few minutes....meeting with the principal. More BS paper work.....You know, we as teachers could get a lot more teaching done if we didn't have all the BS paper work to do. Why they don't leave us alone and let us do what we were hired to do is beyond me.

After school today we take a 2 hour drive to watch the last of our GS's football games. He's already looking forward to basketball.

The Mag Red is a great color. I hate to say it, but I doubt you'll regret moving to the C5. The things I didn't like about the C5 before are not an issue anymore. I love the way it looks, the way it runs, the interior room the feel....They are reasonably priced now too.

Morning gurus.....Just finished a demonstration on how to turn wood on a lathe...I love that one....I just love turning, very relaxing and stress relieving. Had my dental check up yesterday, still have all my teeth (minus the wisdom teeth...I no longer have any wisdom LOL), the fact that I have no problems irritates the wife. Every time she goes, they have to do something to her teeth or they find a problem that she has to have fixed.

Don, I'm glad that they didn't find any problem. Tommy, the cruise sounds like a good time...I like to eat.

My sinuses are really bothering me today....allergies from living in Kansas during harvests. I wish they would finish up cutting the dang corn and milo.

Evening guys.....didn't do too much today. Had some neighbors that moved about 4 years ago stop by for a visit....it was real nice seeing them again. Of course I had to get the Corvette out to show them. They are a couple years younger than me...empty nesters....she really liked it, well so did he, but she really liked it. I told them "Take it for a drive", him "Nah, I might like it." me "All the more reason to take it." them "OK" They weren't gone very long, but the smiles on their faces when they pulled back up were worth a million bucks. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they didn't end up with one in the near future. it was actually kind of cool seeing the Corvette go down and come back up the street.....they are sharp looking cars.

While the Corvette was out, I decided to take the 6 year old for a drive....another one of those "million dollar smiles". I spent some time working at school grading papers as the end of the first quarter is Friday.

Oh yea, welcome back Tommy...glad you didn't leave all your money on the boat.

Oh, it's my youngest grandson's birthday today (6). We just had a nice big breakfast and sang to him and gave him his present. It's liable to be a crazy day here.

Light activity here this morning...or this afternoon. I just got back in from helping with the Cross Country meet. 8 races and 575 runners in those races. Started off pretty cool and warmed up by the end. I never could understand CC, run for 3.1 miles then puke after you finish the race....then five minutes later be stuffing your face with food. IDK.....

Morning Gurus...lots of people from here going up to Manhattan for the game today. I don't really care, I just hope that it's a good game, hate to see blowouts either way.

Kids are relatively calm today, nice weather might have something to do about that. Grandson plays out of town today, so I will be traveling later. It's an hour drive, taking daughter and her husband, Grandma is staying home to get younger GS to his football practice.

What a feat for the Phillies and Halladay, that would have been quite a game to see. I hope the Twinkies can get their stuff together, Brad, not a Yankee fan at all.

Morning Gurus....not much here again, beautiful weather 65* at 11:15am. Been over in the Supt office with some drawing my drafting class did for some remodeling they (the school board) wants to do. They secretaries are impressed....we'll see how the board and supt feel about them.

I spent most of last evening helping my wife redo her web site for her office. I helped her do the original one about 12 years ago. Now she needs to update it, so she has her ideas, but she really doesn't understand how it all works and it's a struggle trying to educate her in the process. I think I get her going last night so she can do some work today.
