I purchased the die-cut self adhesive foil lettering for the front license cover. The fit wasn't even close so I decided to paint them on. Not being steady enough to free hand it, I masked and sprayed. Here are some pics. of the steps.

Nice work, it looks great.

I tried the decals on the rear bumper and the fuel rails. The fuel rail decals came off from the engine heat and the bumber decals faded and peeled slightly from the GA sun. I now have the rear SS letter inserts. If I had your talent they would likely be painted instead.

Very nice! By the way, how does the license filler attach to the bumper? My car came without one and I've purchased one off of eBay that I will be painting soon. In looking at the recess in the bumper where the filler goes, I see two holes there for screws, but the slots for the little tabs at the top of the filler seem to be completely inaccessible to a screwdriver of any type.

Just curious.

The tabs at the top just slip into the slots, and then 2 screws at the bottom hold the cover in.

Aha! So there are no screws on top! Very misleading holes in those little tabs there are!!

I also assume that putting the screws in the bottom just requires slightly pulling down on the lower lip of the bumper to get your screwdriver between the bumper and the bottom of the filler, huh?

Ill. law calls for a front plate. It's very seldom I see one on a vette. Mine's mounted behind the cover, just in case. I folded the edges over so it's not visible. I would hope the police have more important things to do. I have been pulled over but nothing was said about the plate. I have a clear plexi. cover on the rear plate. That is verboten also.

Looks good to me. Would an alternate method be to hand paint then buff off the excess?
