Man this junk is getting expensive, and keeps going up, with no indication as of why.
I can't understand it, the economy is crap, there are no jobs to be had, the value of a dollar keeps slipping, but this stuff keeps going up and up and up. I dun get it. |

Put the noozle in, start pumping, and notice that I'm only at 10 gallons, while the price is at $35.00. WTH? Dumbie me put the Premium noozle in instead of regular. Difference is $3.28 compared to $3.06. DOH! I'll never enter the station from that direction again. Now, as for our economy being craptastic, that's why prices are so high. Investors/feculators (mainly foriegn) are driving the prices up, because the American dollar (stock market/bonds/real estate, etc) is weak right now. |

Really it's from kind hearted liberals going into the jungles and telling the banana eaters that they are poor. They lived that way 3000 years eating monkeys and now someone says they live in destitute poverty. Lets chop down your jungle and make you a village with a water pump and refrigeration to store your food. No more monkey eating. So now they need gas to run the pump, to bring in the food and to run the generator. This creates a shortage that raises the price that the wealthy Americans must pay at the pump. I swear it's the truth.

Diesel is what gets me! IT's supposed to be the cheapest of them all to refine and the prices here for diesel are .02 higer than supreme. I can't complain much as I drive a company vehicle and fill my vette and blazer like once a month. But it still fires me up - I'm sure the oil companys will all post higher profits this qtr. as well

Sell your Corvette and get a Prius then.
I saw one yesterday with vanity plates that said "51 mpg". I felt like pulling up next to him on my motorcycle that gets 60+ and telling him his car is an ugly, boring slab of steel with no payback that won't get 51 mpg outside of a EPA driving simulator. But instead I just rode on. I tried bitching about gas prices before and it only made them more expensive. At the Shell stations here they installed TVs so you can watch the news about gas prices going up while you pump gas. I love it! |

I fill up my work truck almost daily. Approx. $70.00 each time!
 If it were not for the places I sometimes end up, I'd pick up one of those ugly assed econo boxes that get a gazillion MPG! I don't care what it looks like or how slow it is or that I couldn't give it away in 15000 miles....just that I can drive all week ona tank!  I take the vette if I'm going long distance and pretty much know that I'll be on solid ground. Gets 27+ on the highway |

The cheapest I remember as a kid was 24¢ a gallon. Also, even after it went up, I rember the gas attendants would pump an extra 8-10¢ in it and not charge you for it.

I remember a gas war when it got as low as 19.9 cents a gallon - the going rate was about 25.9 at the time. We could pool our change and drive my '62 Chevy with the 6-banger all night long. And that was manly gas, not this wimpy oxygenated lead-free stuff - LOL! So the thought of 50 cents seemed ludicrous when the oil embargo hit. And yeah, they sure were sneaky about phasing out any "service" at the service station. They used to check your oil, wash the windows, empty the ashtray, and check the tires if they looked low. *sigh*

GOTCHA ALL BEAT BACK IN 1960 WHEN I WORKED AT A MOBIL STATION GAS WAS 16 CENTS A GAL FOR REG IN A GAS WAR IT WAS 11-12 CENTS A GAL WE ALSO CHECKED TIRES AND WASHED WINDOWS FRONT AND REAR WE CHECKED THE OIL AND WATER ALSO AND THE BATTERY WATER

Shopping for a new car now. 1990-2001 SOHC Saturn's get nearly 40mpg hi-way with the 5 speed. Built in the USA! :thumbright:
Not the most exciting thing to drive, but thats what the vettes for on the weekends. Just paid $45 to fill up my 4-cylinder Grand-Am. It gets 24 in town, 32 hi-way. At 20,000 plus miles a year I need better. (Or more money) In high school, 20 bucks would fill my truck and buy a road trips worth of snacks... |

I remember 19.9 in the gas wars summer of 1971 or 1972 (too old to remember exactly).
Back in 1981 I sold a 4-wheel drive pickup because I was using about $10 a day in gas. Sounds pretty good by todays standards though. Americans love their cars. Sure it's hurting a lot of people, but so far it is not causing me to change my driving habits yet. :thumbleft: |

I drive 40K + miles per year, I totaled last year and it cost me $5894 to drive 40k miles.
I cant take much more of this,,, the price that everyone pays for goods is gonna climb |

why is it nawt evin been brought up in these presidenta debates?? now i r 1st to addmit i dont pay much attetion to debates ...but nuff to notice gas prices never comes up ...just insurance...fug brut 600...im glad im 3miles one way...my biggest bitch is 20 bucks to fill any of ol hogs n just few yrs ago was 6...cant afford a leisure putt anymo...biggets steamer i have is then the gas people brag of record earnins ..the fuggan crooks...they took the katreni mess n have robbed us from there on
