On the short list;

91 Vert needs some paint chips fixed, head light motor, rusty brackets sanded and painted, weather stripping, heater/defroster repaired, the drivers door panel secured better, engine bay clean up, a good set of high temp plug wires, upgrade the radio, disconnect the secondary alarm and a trip to the dyno.

90 Coupe needs paint, moulding, weatherstriping, wheel refinishing, antenna repair, a/c controls cleaned, right front speaker, glovebox light fixture and bulb and the scratches buffed out of the front windsheild.

That's enough to keep me busy and broke for a little while. :coocoo:

P.S. This is a recurring list and is subject to change without notice.

Lets see...the short answer is:

Weatherstriping
Window motor
Paint
Thats about it. Actually in good shape for a daily driver with 150000 miles.

Are you serious? Too much to list, and once I make a list, it will constantly be changing. I'm content to find one small thing at a time, and work on that in my free time.

I have a bunch of stuff waiting for me to install:

weatherstripping
new front cornering light/turn signal
seatback release bezels
driver's side mirror glass
stereo, amp and speakers

I also need to fix my AC - I have the problem where it stays on defrost for a long time before switching to the vents. I've replaced the check valve, which worked for a while, but now it's misbehaving again.

Someday I'll get the hood and rocker panels repainted.

I have done a fair amount of work since I bought it last year:

MSD opti
water pump
SW long tubes & RT cats
plugs & wires
Hurst shifter
samco radiator hoses + new heater hoses
SLP claw intake
serpentine belt
new fuel injectors
fuel filter
brake pads, rotors, ss lines
R-D Racing cross-frame & camber brace
new shocks
2 newer front tires
new driver's side carpet
windlace trim around halo
wipers
headlights (just replaced with SilverStar for now)
repainted mufflers and polished pipes and resonator
all fluids changed

Probably save up and do those with an opti/water pump
Hatch Weather Strip
PKE issue
Clean debris from radiator
Emergency hood release
Vacuum Hoses
Underhood Light Switch
Power seats are a little wonky
Check CAGS (eliminate)

Stuff I Want:

Ecklers "Prowler" front air Dam
Bronze Tint Top
LT4 cam/rollers
A little underhood chrome
Black or Ruby powdercoat on intake

Really, the only thing that really needs to be done is new weatherstrip. What's there isn't bad though, at least it's not leaking anywhere.

It seems like there is always something that needs to be done. I think the most important thing that my car needs done is driving it. I have accepted its condition etc, and once i get her back together, again, I will drive it!

I think the better question with mine is:

What DOESN'T need to be done.....
Or, What can you afford this month?

In my case, everything needs to be done and I can't afford to do anything this month (or quarter or year).....

Thanks Brad. I sent a PM. I was thinking all that needed to be done was unplug and tape the connectors off, but maybe there is more to it. I'll see if I can learn a bit more about this.

So, sounds like just disconnecting it triggers some light on the DIC. He only wanted $15 shipped, so I snagged it.

Excellent! That seemed like a pretty good deal to me. It's a real easy install - takes longer to get the car up in the air than to plug in the the gadget and zip-tie it out of the way. I believe it just has a resistor in there that fools the system. I hated that one-to-four thing - it always seemed to rear its ugly head at the worst time.

For starters it would be a good thing to finish my engine head/cam swap that I started last year, but that project has snow balled into a major ordeal. I have already bought and paid for all the major components and parts that are needed to complete this project. I'm just lacking time, energy and motivation to get it done any faster.

Creating this list is therapy for me and helps me keep my head above water with the mods that need to be done to get it running again.

Install EM headers with extension tubes & cats (plum into existing stock catback.
Install plugs, wires
repair alternator harness & get rubber boot
repair ground harness on driver side and re-attach to block
Install pwr steering pump, AC compressor and belts
Install new ac condenser, receiver/dryer, evacuate and charge system
Install new radiator and Samco hoses
Install fans & shrouds - odds and ends MAF and wires air filters
Install 3.54 gears
Install Pete K. 3000 stall converter (hope tranny hangs in)
Cross Fingers and hope it FIRES
Dyno Tune
Install new wheels & tires
Buff and Polish the whole car - Install new stripes

Also - things that need to be done but not worried about at this moment
rock chips on front bumper need addressed
fog light lenses suck - pitted and sand blasted
various anomalies in the finish that need detailed out.
I'd like to repaint the front bumper, rockers, and panels behind the rear wheels
Send drivers seat back to Al knoch where his leather is wearing through after only 25k miles
Totally detail and clean the undercarriage and suspension components.

Hello All,

If you ran this thread in January I would have had a list a mile long. But, I think I can do this now. Frankie needs:

Rear window tinted
transmission leak fixed
adjust drivers door-tried twice and driving me crazy
touch up a few paint spots
wet sand and buff
new wiper washer hoses
new driving light bulb
new valve covers
fix intake oil leak
install relay for aux cooling fan
chrome targa top molding

I know theres more but that is it for now. I remember having notebook pages with 30 items each page of all the parts and items that needed to be fixed. I would check off everything that I fixed. But everytime I did, I added another 15 things that needed done. Eventually it will all get fixed.

Email or post here?
And as far as C4's being POS - mine has 227,000 miles on it, for most of what I had to do, it was simply time. I bought it when it was three years old (it's a '96) and paid $21,000 and feel I have gotten more than my money's worth

I still got some adjusting to do and cleaning as well, DO NOT do this with a clean car and think you're gonna keep it that way
It also made me realize how much paint touching up all my trim needs.

I've still got some adjusting to do here, corners still aren't in quite the right place but they're ok for the moment, but removing and reinstalling this piece is easy
Hatch after:

Ok, when I took my old piece out from the hatch area, there's a hard trim piece on there that didn't come out. So, when I went to put in the new piece I got a little confused till I figured out what happened. Here are some pics of that moment.
This is the piece that was attached to the old weatherstripping that didn't come off, I didn't realize this was the rest of what should've came out

This is one that shows how that hard trim piece that's attached to the new weatherstripping actually fits in there where the old one in the above pic came out.

This is the halo bar being cleaned off, and that can of stuff up there helps alot!

Before I forget, there's a few of these little plugs in there, remove and keep them for reinstall

It got dark, didn't get the doors done, but they are fairly ok so far, but do plan to do them sometime. Removing the old stripping was a bit of a pain in the ass on the halo and windshield part, especially the halo. But, that can of stiky stuff remover works wonders. Pull off what you can, spray tons of that in there and wait about 5 minutes and it scrapes off easily

Reinstalling was not hard at all, but make sure when you are installing the pieces to find the centers and work out from there. The hatch piece is actually a little bigger than the GM piece to relieve the stress on the glued corners, but it didn't keep me from pulling on mine and getting a hole in one side so, gotta fix that. And, I had those little drain tubes in the corners and had them in the wrong place so I plan to fix all that also. There's still some adjustments to make but I'm kinda proud of me and my little pink tool set

Thanks much for the pics! Looks like you did a great job, and they were more than due for replacement.

Thanks guys!
That was original weatherstripping on the car. And, that hatch part was the easiest. I didn't do the doors or the roof panel as they were fine.

By the way -----
This was not GM weatherstripping, but rather the 7-piece kit came from corvettesouth.com and I am very pleased with the fit, and the entire kit only cost $384. The windows work fine, the top went back in well, the hatch is harder to close, but look what I was dealing with before! I was warned by a body shop man that wanted $400 to install that they'd be too fat and the top wouldn't fit, etc. For $400 I took a stab at it myself.
