OK, so the economy sucks. But we gotta have a little fun every once in awhile.
$100 isn't that much dough, but you can find some cool stuff out there. What low-budget items have you found for your C4 that were pretty cool? I haven't done much to my Ruby, but I did let my son install a 40th Anniversary logo throttle body cover. A nicely made piece that isn't over the top. Found it on eBay for about $20, I think. Whatcha got? |

Best cheap item I bought... I got 2 of them.
The perforated glass top liner. About $25. Reduces heat big time, and you can still sort of see through it. If you take your time installing it, it's really nice. The second item, that cover over the side view mirror joystick/seat controls. I always thought that space looked unfinished. The one I bought has the C4 logo, with holes above and below the bar part of the logo so you can put your fingers into it to take it out. |

Ha, I've got one of those. Keeps falling down on my head while I'm driving. Tried cleaning it & the glass but no good. I was just thinking yesterday about putting the painted top on. It's getting too hot here for the glass one. |

Hmmmm. Not sure why that would be. Mine's on there strong. I've had the top on and off a few times and the liner never moved. Looks like it was made with it on there. |

The CAGS eliminator was probably the biggest bang for the buck - I don't recall what I paid, but it was under $30.
I bought one of these on ebay, very slightly used, for $30: http://ecklers.com/product.asp?pf_id=A5303&dept_id=1364 I bought the body of my SLP Claw on ebay for $60 (cost me another $75 for new filters). I bought a console cushion for 30-something - I like it, although it makes opening the glove compartment a bit of a PITA. I bought some emergency hood release cables (too lazy to make my own, and didn't want to use zip ties) for under $20. I bought some black center caps for my wheels on ebay for about $40. I bought a Maisto 1:18 scale model of my car (wrong color, unfortunately) on ebay for under $20. |

More came to mind...
I bought the Corvette Gadget Man's E-Z Jack Adapter - a little spendy for a chunk of iron, but it is handy: http://www.corvettegadgetman.com/products3.html I also got one of his hatch vent thingamabobs on CF for $15. |

You mean there is a part thats UNDER 100 for the vette? LOL, just kidding. Only thing I can think of is the headlight upgrade I did that allowed me brighter bulbs and had halo eyes built in. Really lit up the road after that, such an improvement over stock! Other than that the air horn was nice...lol!

I am very pleased with the eliminators. The sound when I get on the gas is just great. I get some resonance in the interior, but not bad at all. I think it is the best bang for the buck, plus I like the look of the magnaflow oval tips. I dunno what cost me less than 100 that I really like. A lot of my purchases have been bigger. I still need to buy a hatchvent - that runs about $30. My new speakers cost less than $100 on clearance, so I'd have to say those for now.

I'd be happier with it if it had been $2. It works fine, was a pretty nice piece with all the weather-pack connectors and such, but still.... I also got a little Ryobi screw gun for $30-something that I use for removing the targa - works great. |

This is awesome! Once I sell my Acura, I might go on a little shopping spree!
Although I might take that money and add it to my insurance check so I can get the whole car repainted. There was some pretty crappy paint work done in a couple spots when I bought the car. You think the ruby interior would go with a yellow exterior? I'm gonna say no, but it would look decent with silver/grey two tone. I suppose it would be a crime to change a 40th into something else... |

Brake bias spring from Doug Rippie. BillH, if you're interested, take the perforated headliner and put it and a clean terrycloth towel in the dryer with no heat and let it tumble for about 15-20 minutes. Take it out and put it on, it'll seem like it's got glue on it.

DRM brake spring was best bang for the buck.
Muffler elims done at a muffler shop. the tips need to stick out about 1 inch past the body, no resonance, quiet enough inside to hear the radio at speed. if you extend the tip 1 inch you need to cut off the hanger bracket and weld back in to fit properly. To those who are thinking about elims, JMO that they are best on a 6- speed, as 2 friends have them on an auto and they can be annoying. Then they are not driving an LT4 the way I do. |
