Nolan News: Our little man went to heaven Saturday. Nolan passed away comfortably and after a great fight. Our hearts hurt but we’re so happy he is no longer in pain and in a better place watching over us. We are so proud to be his parents. Thank you for your support & prayers through this journey, we love you all.

There no words that can express our daughters and son-in-laws Love, Dedication, & Courage through out the past three months in their support for Nolan. The wife and I had the honor of listening to the Doctors and Nurses stop by Nolan's room to visit. Their words of praise and confirmation were both helpful and heartbreaking. Nolan touched many people at the UCSF Children's Hospital. Our praise and thanks to the staff there for their professional determination and personal caring for Noland and his parents. They are truely devoted professionals. Nolan was always in the best of care both then and now as an Angel with God.

Steve, I am so sorry to hear this news. I wish there was something I could say to help you through this tough time, but words cannot do much. It sounds as though your daughter and her husband are real troopers. Send them our love and condolences.

FWIW,

The family got together this evening for dinner. First time we've seen each other since Saturday. Daughter and Husband are doing fine. We shared a few moments and then on to our normal dysfunctional self's again. (Just kidding)

One of my daughters GFs down the street just gave birth to a girl. The two spent time together with the baby and she got to hold her for a spell.

There's a hole in all of our souls that will take time to fill in. For now Wifey and I are feeling pretty good about the kids.

I've been watching and reading (lurking) ever since the first day you announced the birth of your grandson.

BTW...everything said here echoes my thoughts and feelings.

I simply wanted to add that I am very sad that you will never KNOW your grandson (at least in this life).

Yeah that part was a big bummer for me and the wife. But.....

On Fathers day the daughter and husband were at the ice cream shop when a young boy and his Dad stepped up to the counter. My daughter stopped to observe the moment and then looked at her husband. All of her thoughts vanished when she saw the big smile on husbands face.

These two are very special people and will make great parents someday soon.
