I see your a Senior. If most others are Elite, then maybe Elite is like a noob.

Not that the label matters.

I'm sorta confused about how the new status levels are achieved, but I guess it doesn't really matter, as long as we're here and helping each other out.

Good condition is kinda hard to define. If you kept it as a driver, the condition of the body/paint would make a difference, the condition of the frame, etc. The rebuild/replace would matter too, correct replacements, etc.

My guess would be ( assuming it's a numbers matching, correct block)

Good condition - $30k
Very Good - $35k
Frame off restoration - $50 - $55k

It's a base car (like my 67), so the pirce wouldn't be way up there. The teak's worth a little but after this many years would probably need restoration.

I bought my 63 Z06 in 1969 for $1400, sold it to go racing.
I bought my 67 Coupe in 1973 for $3000, still have it.

I already posted links for you that played videos on how to post on Photobucket. You wouldn't even have to read it to learn how to use the site.

Did you watch them? I figured you would be a pro by now.

Raining like crazy here in TN. The ground is puddled up. We needed all the rain last summer. Hopefully all this rain will continue to raise our lake levels.

I started off busy this morning but now have a little time to add my 2¢ worth.

It was 70 yesterday, 60 today and going to be in the low 50's the rest of the week.

I hope everyone has a happy Tuesday. Only 3 more working days until Friday

Good Morning Gurus!

Happy Tuesday! (if there is such a thing)

I guess I really don't have anything special to start the chat with today.

So hopefully one of you'uns guys will have something to get us started.

Hang in there baby! Friday's comin'!

Where did you get your headliner? I have heard some people say they kept coming lose. It would be nice to find a decent one.

Thanks,

I got mine from Corvette Central. $59.00 I think. It has tabs that fit under the frame that hold it there pretty good. It hasn't fallen down yet anyhow.

The thing I didn't like about it was that the under side of the headliner can be seen thru the clear top and it looked like poop. So what I did was go to a craft store and got some sheets of black felt and covered the back side so when looking down thru the top all you see is the black felt. It looks good and is not noticable unless you are looking for it 'cause it is black.

Doesn't look bad but I didn't think I should have had to do that to it. You would have thought the Brainiac's that design these things would have thought about covering up that side knowing it was going on a clear top and that side would have been visable outside the car. JMO.

I found it on ebay after many months of looking. First one I found under $400 in NICE condition.

item # 350029296298

Here's the crappy condition kind I've been finding every week.

I modified it in photobucket but it can also be done in HP Image Zone or other photo print programs. Then save it to file and upload it here on your avatar select option.

Got it! Tnanks

In order to put a long tube header on and keep the factory resonator, you'd have to get two pipes bent to connect the header to the resonator. You can then opt to have a cat in there or not. Stainless Works has their setup so that it is a kit and it does exactly how I described. I know of no one else that does this.

The mufflers are a different story since they connect on the other end of the resonator. They are two totally separate pipes at that point though. The L98s used a y pipe off the back of the cat to split off to each muffler.

1st test - when you apply the brake, do you hear a hissing sound? If yes - new booster.
2nd test - With the engine off, apply the brake 3 or 4 time. The brake pedal should get higher with each pump. If no - new booster.
3rd test - After test #2, do not remove your foot from the pedal. Start the engine. The pedal should drop slightly and return to normal position. - If not new booster.
4th test - disconnect the vacuum line from the booster port. Plug all other openings. Attach a vacuum pump and apply 10 - 15 inches of vacuum. It should hold this vacuum for a minimum of 3-5 minutes. If not - new booster.
When you replace the booster (I just did this, again, yesterday), you will find it easier to get to the bolts under the dash if you remove the entire seat and drop the steering column. Remember to remove the air bag fuse and disconnect the battery before you drop the column. When you replace the nuts, use a couple of really long extentions, a swivel and a short socket with a little "sticky" grease inside the socket. The grease will help you keep your sanity by keeping the nut in place. There really is a place under the dash of C-4's that hides dropped nuts and bolts - once there, you'll never find 'em
Good luck

replacing the bose isn't as easy as it sounds. The system is very propriatary. You just don't replace speakers in it. I need to bring the Audio FAQ back to life...

Speaker fabric, at least OEM, isn't available anymore. Stinger makes some nice speaker grill cloth that matches colours pretty well, tho.

The speaker covers on my Bose speakers on the floor by my feet are really worn and half gone. Is there new fabric I can buy to cover it? Perhaps replacing the speakers all together?

Excellent. I have been looking around for one as well, just like the look. I have checked with Melrose and they did not have any used tops and wanted $785 for a new one. I have seen several on Ebay. Where did you find it? :me2:

try to guess the person by what they posted

or play memory with the avatar and name (I know there are several ppl that I recognize by av and don't need to see their name - let's hope they don't change it!).

After measuring it looks like there is almost an inch of thread just in the heads then I have ¼ inch thick flange in the headers to 1 inch here I come. I liked the idea of these as much for the Allen head with external flats as much as for the wire, sounds like the wire is a waist of time though. I will probably just go with stainless socket head Allen bolts but would still like the flats on the outside for a backup system. By the way Notorious thanks for the gasket advice I was about to ask about them.

Also, you may want to remove the factory sealant... depending on what brand you get.

I used Russell bleeders and the sealant was so damn hard it flaked off and got in the bleed port and made my calipers leak.

I fixed it by running them through a thread die and then putting some fresh thread sealer on there. The thread sealer is not for sealing the brake pressure in, it's only for keeping air from being drawn in while bleeding. Note that the oem bleed valves don't need thread sealer.
