Bill, I have the book "Vette Vues Factbook of the 1963-1967 Stingray" by M.F. Dobbins that I bought back in 1980, which has loads of info. You're more than welcome to borrow it if you think it will help. LMK

That a cool 67. What Lyndel Blue? (not sure of the spelling)

The roadster has not seen the light of day in 20 years of more. I found out about it back in 2004 shortly after I bought my 94, one of the kids in my class told me his dad had one in storage. So I asked him about it and he said he didn't know what year it was or anything about it. These people I had known for 15 years, sit in front of me in church every weekend. Any way I asked him about it one day after church and he told me all about it. He's had it since 73 or so, not original engine, needs lots of work. I just keep cool and don't pressure him, ask occasionally about it. He really has no interest in it, so I figure one of these days, I might get a chance at it.

On another note I was talking to another friend and he has a small block 66 roadster that needs a ton of work. It also hasn't seen the light of day in 10 years. He asked me about mine the other day, so in reciprocal, I asked about his and he told me that he had hoped that he could get it out and start fixing it up. His son has pretty much taken over the reins of the family farm and he was hoping that that would free up some time, but it hasn't happened. I doubt that one will be for sale though, as his son knows what it is.

So, Bill, do you have the car those parts fit on? Inquiring minds want to know.

There's a 67 427 roadster that is sitting in a shed here in town. I'm biding my time, thinking I might have a shot at it someday.

Morning guys.....man I need to get out to the shop and work on those cabinets.....Ron and Bill are making me feel guilty. My butts been dragging the past two days, I hope today is better. So far I haven't gotten much done. Golfing last night was OK, I didn't hit the ball well, but the food was good.

Bill, you got a new project going that I haven't heard about? With that reading material, it appears so.

Not much here. I got up yesterday and decided to wash the wife's car...it needed it pretty badly since I hadn't cleaned it since we went to KC for the 4th. Got it all washed and vacuumed out when the wife called me in for breakfast. Like you, Tommy, it was right in the middle of things and I hurriedly ate and went back out to finish it up. I laid a coat of wax on. I then started in on my pick up, allowing time for the wax to dry. The pickup wasn't too bad, just dusty really, so it was a rinse job mainly and a vacuum. Wiped the car down and then started in on the vette. It wasn't dirty really either but wiped it down and then gave it a coat of wax as well, our local car show is this coming Sunday, so I just got a head start on the primping. This took until about 4:30...a nice relaxing Sunday.

About the time I started to settle in and watch some TV, the phone rings and I need to go out to the shop and work on a table. I could have said to bring it in today but it was a small job that would take me about 30 minutes, so I decided to just do it and get it done and the people could take it home and out of my hair.

Today, I've been working on staining two of the projects that I have been working on in the shop, so I've been out there staining, 3 hours worth. I'll grab a bit and go back out. Tonight we have men's night at the golf course, so I'll head out there, bound to be hot.

We got our reservations for our class reunion party in August...not a mile-mark reunion, but for us all turning double nickle. Should be an enjoyable time.

Morning guys. I spent most of yesterday traveling to and from a 9 year old baseball tourney (grandson). I was so tired after getting home I just crashed. I don't know why I was so tired but I feel much better this morning.

Had a nice shower last night probably about .7". Supposed to get hot today, 98*. Maybe your pool would feel pretty goo this afternoon Matt. Tommy you're a good person, I got to spend all day yesterday with the wife, so today I'm doing some things I need to get done. Hopefully the rain will hold off for you Brad, so you can get the round in.

Have a great Sunday.

Morning gurus...

It's been a busy couple of days for me. I have three cabinet jobs (small ones) going in the shop, worked on two more computers, need to go back to one place and finish up a remote printer, and today the wife and I are headed for a grandsons' ball game. Sounds like everyone else is staying busy as well. Weather wise, it's going to warm up a bit more today, upper 80's, I'm not complaining, we've had three near perfect days here.

I need to get back out to the shop and get a door built, some shelves finished and I need to get back and hook up that printer. Have a great Friday.

Afternoon...been a busy, busy boy that last two days. A friend is building a house and acting as his own general, needed some help hanging the exterior doors, so I went over to help him do that the last couple of days. Not your typical frame house though, it's a log house and the hanging of doors is much more involved, so it was time consuming. Last night when I got home I had two computer to work on, one virus removal, got it done...the other a complete building with all new parts (which came in yesterday afternoon) and loaded the OS and all the apps that I normally install. Got it done and went to bed about midnight.

Today the weather has been fantastic about 78* and a light breeze, but that is bound to change looking at triple digits by Monday.

Haven't had that kind of an attack yet, but have had my CC # stolen a couple times and had to go through that mess. I hope they are able to recoup some of the $$$$$.

Morning.....nice and cool here so far, supposed to warm up a little. We've had a really nice stretch of weather. Back to the grind for the wife and daughter, but me...well I have some work to do in the shop and watch the two younger boys.

I'm with Brad, it nice to know people that own a pool and a boat. The gnats were bad earlier but they seem to have gone away for the time being. I missed Mens night last night as we didn't get home soon enough.

I hope that everyone has s great day.

Morning gurus...Most of the firework activities were washed out yesterday. But the BBQ and the beer went on without a hitch. Only real thing planned today is the 400 mile trip back home.

Morning guys...my wife and daughter, husband and three kids were up early and went to the local 4th of July fun run/walk. They are all back already and now preparing to go to the parade. Me....I've sat in front of this computer, done the email, checked craigslist and now responding to you guys.

BTW found a 90 coupe with blown head gasket for $3000. Is that a good price? The rest looks pretty good, red/red sport seats 6 speed. Also found a 72 coupe needs work for $10k or best offer.

I could easily spend more money than I have on cars. Have a great day.

Good to hear Tommy. Also good to hear that many other projects are getting done as well. 6 hour drive to KC, then a little rest. Tomorrow is the parade and more rest (I hope).

Morning....I'm where I hoped to be half way through the year...still above ground, so that's a plus. Not much going on today for me. I have some work out in the shop...but it may wait until after the fourth.

Morning gurus...

I'm sitting here trying to clean a computer of a rootkit virus. I have a ton to do, I'm headed out to the shop to finish building an interior closet door, spray some finish on some trim I made, and start a bookshelf system. That ought to keep me pretty busy, besides the removal of this dam* virus.

The Trophy blue is a 66, the one with side pipes is a 64 (not original to 64, but I love those sidepipes as well).

I want to go to Bloomington some day. Thanks for the report.

I've had laptops since they first came on the market at something like $4k (most company supplied). Usually got a new one every 2 years but, the ones that crapped out before 2 years.

HP (2)
Dell, ick.
Compaq
Toshiba

My last Toshiba (which Tom has) lasted 2 years before the hard drive crapped.

So, being brilliant, I got another Toshiba. But for the $379 price, it couldn't be beat.

And with the new Hard Drive, it's a pretty peppy computer!

I have not seen the Ceramic top saws...I have seen one with Granite though...heavy, OMG. I have an old Unisaw (Forrest saw blades) that I have in the shop, it serves me very well.

Morning gurus...

I've got a truck coming this way today with materials for three different jobs, so I'll be busy once that stuff makes it here. The wife is off today so that makes watching the boys a bit easier.

Don, I wish I could have thought about doing that Brad, we have a string of decent days on the way too, only in the upper 80's to low 90's for the next week or so. Matt, it always seems to be something doesn't it? $10 here $50 there.... Tommy, I have to practice my busy look until the wood gets here, too. Think I'll retire to the shop...makes it easier to look busy.

I'd have to agree....we've been lucky to pretty much control our debt. Right now, the only debt we have is the mortgage, and we are less than three years away from having that done. I want the wife to continue putting away the amount I was paying on my Corvette (which we paid off earlier this month) into an account where we can have a nest egg ready for the next car purchase.

Morning guys....not much happening here today. I finished up two computers yesterday...late last night. I have nothing on my agenda today.

Matt, I would truly love to go to Bloomington....at least once. It would be a fix for this addict. Wow, the L98 takes that long to get the VC off? My LT1 wasn't bad at all. Sure hope you can get all the little crap worked out do you can start driving it.

Morning guys...sorry to hear of all the troubles going around here. I had another computer brought over to me to fix, had one yesterday afternoon...it was DOA, I fixed him up with a loaner until I get new parts and repair the primary one. This one this morning is just all junked up.

The grandsons had good games last night. They were all tired this morning.

Sure hope that you who have troubles are able to work through them and resolve those issues. Bloomington? I'd like to attend that once, just to say I have.

Morning guys. Not much planned here. I got another little cabinet job last night. Shouldn't take much time if I had the materials. I'll order them today for delivery next week.

Ball games tonight if we don't get rained out.

Tommy, I know exactly what you mean, I end up slobbering all over myself. Matt, it really makes you wonder, then it's great to find that it was you that messed up and not the part. Well keep all four on the ground today.

Good morning....Finished up the counter tops, cleaned the shop, now ready for the next job. Baseball got rained out last night. Just enough rain to make things wet. Today the boys have activities so that should leave me some free time.

Summer is flying by, always seems like July 4th comes along and then summer is over....

Have a great day.

Afternoon gurus.....

Been working on the counter top job that I started a couple weeks ago, they had to have an electrician come move a couple of boxes. Now I can finish up. While I was there today they want me to do a couple of other small jobs, so, one thing leads to another.

Two ball games tonight...it's going to be hot, it's already 103.

I try to keep things organized, but always end up with multiple coffee cans too, and like you guys end up at the hardware store on most jobs.

Everyone have a good day.

Hey guys....a long-short weekend. Didn't seem like I did anything, but went be fast. Took the two younger grandsons to Toy Story yesterday...it was fun, then when we got home, my little brother and his wife were here, on their way home from New Mexico (bike rally). They spent the night with us.

This morning they got up and left and I went to school to do a couple of things (VocEd paper work) and now I'm trying to catch up on email. This afternoon I need to go work on a counter top.

Not much motivation to do anything.......You all have a good Monday.

I slept in a bit today, and the wife had breakfast ready for us shortly after I got up. Going to take my two younger grandsons to "Toy Story 3" a little later. I have really liked the Toy Story series, so I'll enjoy this one. The older grandson is 3 hours away playing baseball this weekend (with our daughter).

It's going to be hot again today, up over 100.

Matt that sounds much like the run my oldest daughter did earlier in the month. She flew out to San Diego and did a "Boots and Utes" run. It was a race done out on a Military training facility. Anyway in the team competition her team won their division.

Tommy, is the shorts outfit plaid or paisley?

Good afternoon. I got up and went out and finished up the countertops....now I need to get out in the shop and clean it up. Not much planned here for today. It's going to be hot...again. Thinking of taking the grandsons to see the new Toy Story movie tomorrow.

Not much other than that today....you guys have a good Father's Day weekend.

I had to split the video up into two sections. Uploaded to Vettetube.com. Search for C5 Column lock.

Watch the whole thing, it all leads to Column lock discussion.

Please be kind, it is my first attempt at doing video.

Good morning Gurus....praying for you Rick. The wake service is usually tougher than the funeral, at least it was for me. Tommy, give your wife my best thoughts. Sounds as though she has gone through quite a bit. Brad, that sounds like a cool time.

Me, I need to finish up some counter tops today and try to get them installed. Other than that I am just bearing the heat.

Good morning guys. Tommy, just goes to show that things can turn around pretty quickly. I have hopes that we might see a similar turn around for our daughter and her three boys. Having them in the house has been quite a change for us, but we do what we got to do. Pete, losing a parent isn't easy at any age, but that young is too young. Mine departed less than two years apart 79 and 81, still wasn't easy. Brad be safe over there, and enjoy the trip the best you can.

I'm headed out to hang those cabinets this morning. I hope to have them done by noon. All three grandsons have baseball games tonight, so we'll be busy hitting those. Not much planned other than that. You guys (and gals) have a great day.

Good afternoon....well got my plans for the day changed again today. Yesterday I was to finish those counter tops I started last week, they weren't ready for me to finish, so that screwed yesterday. Today I thought I was to hang some cabinets, went over nobody there. I come home and read the email again....."see you Thursday at 8:30"...I guess I need to learn to read more thoroughly. So I came home and finished up cleaning the Corvette...and put in a new fuse so the lighter socket works, vacuumed it out and put it back up on the lift. Vacuumed the pickup since it was out anyway. Then came in to work on those computers....the desktop had a sh!tload of corrupt files....format and reload, fixed that one. The laptop has issues....finally get it up and running and the thing just shuts down on a whim. Chkdsk won't even complete, gets to step 4 of 5 and freezes. I think the HDD is about toast. Not sure it's worth putting a new one in, looks like the owners have used it for the dog to walk on, keys missing, scratched up...it'll have to be their decision.

Sounds like everyone here is making do. Rick, stay busy it helps you get through the day. Sounds like most of us are headed for the oven this weekend. I'm not looking forward to that. Well this other computer is calling.....POS

Good morning gurus.....

Moved a step ahead yesterday and got the daughters stuff out of the trailers and into the storage unit....that after my 6 hour drive home. Today I have counter tops to finish up installing and I need to build another one. Then I have some cabinets to install (might very well be tomorrow). Two computers sitting here to work on, a visit for a possible cabinet job and set up a computer for another. When I take a few days off things really pile up fast.

Matt, congrats on the fireup, you'll have it ready for driving around shortly. Brad that show sounds like a good time.

It's been a bit unusual weather-wise here. Looking at mid 80's today with a good chance for rain. Let it happen, we'll take rain whenever we can get it.

Trae, I think the stitching is perfect with the seats....I guess they had other ideas...worked out great for me!

Don, I knew that you'd like them. I like the seats in your 94!

What a bunch of great people there.

Sorry to hear of your grandmother Rick. Pete sounds as though you are getting close. Tommy, I'd like to try AX some time. Brad, that is an event I'd like to attend sometime in the future. Matt, you kid you. 30? Ah, to be so young.....
