Hi Guys I wonder if anyone has a solution to my problem.
Yesterday I lowered the tail end of my 90 Vert. The car always sat a bit lower on the drivers side, after lowering it I still have the same problem it sits 3/8" lower on the Driver side.
How do I correct this problem?
Thanks for any help.

Hi guys, I've been pretty busy lately. A week ago I got my 4 post lift delivered and yesterday I got the "high lift" added to my garage door. Today my son-in-law and I added some additional lights and electrical plugs. Next on the agenda is to build some cabinets to replace the the old shelves that we had when we moved in 22 years ago to clean up the area in front of the lift. I'm also going to look at having some aluminum ramps built as the steel ones that came with the lift are heavy and a PITA to move around. I've also got to have some brackets made to hang the wheels for moving the lift around. Still lots to do, but I'm making headway.

Here's the garage after getting the lift installed, but the garage door hasn't been "high lifted" yet.

Now I've got the door fixed here is what it looks like. My son-in-law standing under the vette, lift all the way up.

Here's a shot of all three of my vehicles in the garage.

That area up in front is where I'll be building my cabinets.

Chris,

Are you going to eat the chicken?

You could always send it here, I'm sure I could get a some boatguys and frogs to partake in that science experiment with me. Shoot if the timing is right, I have a couple of Army SF buddies coming down soon and I'll may be able to get them to indulge in a tasty canned feast.

LOL

happy easter

hi case and bogus,
thanks for the replies.
i took a look in the fsm and found two pages that list all the colors and 4 plugs with the wires and what they mean and do.
i tell ya though it is going to be quite a darn task to do this job.
there a 5 flying wires, red/battery, earth wire/black, 2 orage wires/fuel pump,1 grey wire for ignition switched 12 v,1 green wire/auxilery wire,
i have installed ecu box under glove compartment and fitted large rubber grommet thru fire wall with wire loom going thru it,
then there is the rest of the wires,
trigger/2 wires and grey cord of wires/4 wires,
coolent/2 wires,rd speedo /3 wires,air/2 wires,o2/3 wires,injectors/5 wires,idle/4 wires,t.p.s /3 wires,ignitioon wires/6 wires,m.a.p /3 wires and p.w.m /5 wires.
i will give you a example of what im confused about,
connector d plug lists injectors 2 4 6 8 driver- dark green,injector ground- black/white wire, then injectors 1 3 5 7 driver dark blue,injector ground black/white,
ok so there are 4 wires found on plug, but the clors on the haltech dont match the wires on the plug colors, then there still is a spare wire to connect with, wtf!!
this elecetronic stuff beats me.
i was hoping not to hav eto pay some one $ 800.00 to have towire this darn thing!!
oh well.
any way " HAPPY EASTER TO ALL " GUYS
cheers
glen

ALSO BEING IN THE AUTO REPAIR FIELD FOR 35 YEARS ALL WE EVER USED IS TAP WATER ITS NOT THE CAUSE OF YOUR RUST THE CAUSE IS POOR MAINTENANCE TO THE COOLING STSTEM
FLUSH IT EVERY 30,000 MILES OR 2 YEARS
ALSO IF YOU ARE USING DEXCOOL QUIT ZEREX MAKES A NEW A/FREEZE CALLED GO5 BETTER AND DOESNT ATTACK THE GASKET LIKE DEXCOOL

midnight is right. There are some differences in the Corvette version of the 700R4. For example, OD will engage with the throttle floored.

a leaky multec has never happened... NOT.

you have a problem with the injectors. If it isn't a bad injector, it's a bad o-ring.

as for the code: how many miles are on this car? Is the MAF original? Are the relays original?

IIRC, the headlight relays are the same as the MAF. I would consider swapping relays and testing to see if the headlights work.

nope. no asking the audience, mostly, because they are playing, too.

I want you all to know, datawiz used to run a game just like this at a different forum. I set a record for 7 of 10. So be thankful I am not playing. I won a nice set of Lloyds mats for that one.

Your a/c will come on no matter what the temperature is outside. If you're turning on the a/c and the compressor doesn't kick in then it has leaked it's charge out. Take it to a pro, find and fix the leak and then you should be set.

Another drawback to Aamco, they will probably just replace your trans with another one that will not be Corvette specific. Bogus is right on, PeteK is THE man to get hold of for a trans or if you are mechanically inclined you could rebuild the trans yourself like I did, with Pete's help of course. With the proper rebuild manual it's a piece of cake.

Yea, you are really gonna need the FSM for this task. All the wires are there, but you will need the FSM to integrate the Haltech with the car. There is just no other way to do it.

Think about this for 30 seconds. AAMCO is charging about double the prevailing rate for that rebuild, wo when it does blow up, they won't eat much the 2nd time around...

If it was my car, I would consider converting to a 5spd.

Otherwise, drop a PM to PeteK. He is THE man when it comes to these trannys.

I think my definition may be pretty old- I don't have a box dedicated to code 84, or disabling the auto trans in my switch list. I sent an email to TunerCat on Froday, but no word yet.

It is a relatively minor issue, but it forced the issue of getting an updated definition file.

Looks like my transmission bit the bullet yesterday. LOUD grinding/rubbing noise, especially in reverse, and that's at a complete stop. It's an automatic.

Unfortunately, my wife was driving it at the time and hasn't let me forget it yet -- probably won't for a very long time. :shaking: The only positive side of that is that she can't blame it on my fast driving -- and, no, I don't dare say anything to her about her lead foot.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a quality repair shop in or around Raleigh, North Carolina? My current option is to get a rebuild with lifetime warranty from Aamco for about $2,800. The money doesn't bother as much as Aamco does. I have declared the car undriveable at this point, so would have to get it hauled there.

I'll second what Bogus said, Taylors and NGKs are all I use.
Plugs, wires and fuel filters are maintainence items. Cleaning the TB is easy and inexpensive.
If you know these items are in good shape, your diagnosis will be a little easier.

I found a stash of old Road and Tracks etc, and found this article. I really like the part about how the suspensions were modified by Herb Adams, especially where they say a brace is added to control A Arm bending. Is this a Camber brace precursor? WHo knows. But I would like to find Herb Adams website and ask them. Do they have one, a website that is?

Have a look in the service manual and find which wire is the 12v ignition on for the standard ECM, and use that mate.

I think this will be the only section I frequent.

Went down for a Corvette function, one of my customers who I built a 402 for his C5 lives there. I was tossed the keys and given some time with his car at the track. I was only 6 seconds of his pace (His home track and he does about a dozen events there every year).

The ECM switch turns off the CAGS DTC, or its meant to, but i think its called C.A.R.S. in the tunercat file.

If you havent gone to the bottom of the switch list and unchecked the box for DTC 84, it will still come up even if you have CAGS turned off.

If your car used to be an auto, have you switched the Auto Trans check box off?

I am betting Ohms Law is kicking you in the ass. Just too much load on the line. I would check the voltage and see what is what.

I also wonder if the tach filter isn't dying or dead...

hm... I know that Ecklers sells a cap that will fake out the PCM.

I don't know what the "ECM Switch" does... I would expect a dedicate cags setting.

I like Taylor wires and NGK plugs.

If there hasn't been a tune up or filter replacement, I would go ahead and do it.

I would also remove and clean the throttle body.

I drive the car everyday and it has been running fine. I just went to eat tonight and it ran fine but on the way home it started skipping really bad . Even at high speeds it runs like crap! Could it be the fuel filter, spark plugs or the spark plug wires? If I hold the gas just aliddle in park it idles up and down and if I give it just a tad more gas it idles really ruff. What is the best plugs to put in a 91 coupe and what is the best wires to have.

my mom's house is on a 1/2 acre... the back yard was at a slope, not steep, but enough that when pushing a mower, it got REAL heavy!

So tractor time it was!

When I used to drive distances, I would plan things only the lotto could pay for. one of those was an ornate, water feature ladened back garden/oasis. It woulda been cool.

I am genuinely conflicted.

I am all for for freedom of expression. But I don't want this site to get the reputation of being a bash site.

So I have found the happy medium... let the OP vent... let a couple of people commiserate, then lock. Perfect.
