A few sections get the most work-out but still they were a lifesaver for some parts of the job. I also have a copy of the parts manual that helps at times, but I still get lazy sometimes and ask you guys for part numbers. I still think someone that is planning on rebuilding or fixing major systems should own a set for their year car.

After losing too many bids on ebay I just broke down and ordered them from Helms. My wife had a few words about the price but they have paid for themselves. I agree they can be a little hard to navigate but there is a lot more year specific info than the Haynes manuals. Most thread responses at DC (also suggested C4guru.com) and here always made references to the FSM and strongly suggested to invest in a set, so I did.

Those and my code reader plus this site has been my most valuable tools while working on my 84. Between the three there hasn't been a prob that I can't diagnose and fix.

They are made the way GM wanted it, the time it takes a tech to find the info he needs is added to the customers bill making them that much more profit.
